what I don't understand is why the Rams didn't resign Danny

who do they have at WR right now?...Quick?...Givens?...they have NO ONE

it's like they just refuse to put any money into the WR position

they should be in the hunt for Jennings, but they probably aren't for some reason

Also Amendola is about 26 or 27 and only has a 10 mill guaranteed contract. Not bad.

The FO makes pretty good decisions does not mean every move they make is good. Eagles went about the whole replace a player philosophy see it works routine. And along the way they saw how it bit them in the ass. Heck not for nothing but losing Brian Dawkins in the secondary was HUGE. Eagles til this day still havent replced him. Yet when they let Dawk walk "Ahhhh he is replaceable", "We got younger talent at the position". Fast forward to today? Eagles need a Safety. So to think you can keep replaceable valuable and key players like this is foolish. Its like thinking everyone that suffers an ACL injury will return like Peterson did. Amendola is better than Edleman but he is no Welker.

Now we agree that the move wasnt bad but I can also see the side of Pats fans upset at letting Welker go based on being cheap. To see him go to Denver for 2yrs $12mil is sad. To even let him go seek out a better deal elsewhere is even sadder. There comes a point where thinking everyone is replaceable will come back to bite you in the ass. There is a reason why Denver adding a Welker to that offense has fans, sports analysts reacting in this manner. Amendola goes to Denver the reaction isnt nearly the same. So you can just shrug off Welker walking. He was a key contributor to that Pats offense and when they need that tough catch, yards to keep a drive going? He was called on.

The Chiefs have signed CB Sean Smith to a 3 Year/18 Million Dollar Contract with 11 Million Guaranteed.

The Chiefs are having a great offseason so far.

The Colts have signed DT Ricky Jean-Francois to a 4 Year/22 Million Dollar Contract.

The Colts have given out some questionable contracts so far this offseason.

Alot of money for Francois. I don't know what he did to warrant that kind of money and at best he's a fringe starting NT. Never impressed me with his play. He's a good depth player but he's nowhere near that money. I guess the contract doesn't have alot of guaranteed money so he'll be cut in a few years when they can find a better replacement.

Ricky Jean is only fully guaranteed 6.5 million, which is basically all that matters.

He's a good player who will help out our poor run defense at a position of huge need. He played 320+ snaps as a backup and performed well last year. Not your typical backup.

We have only made one questionable signing, the Walden deal, the rest have been upgrades at positions of need.

What "skill" is he bringing that Welker lacks? That's silly. He might be faster, but guess what? There are a lot of faster receivers that never caught 110 balls in a season. Welker averaged 112 receptions per season here so we're not going to be happy just because the Pats found a guy that kind of looks like him. Brady restructures to get the team 25 mil in cap space and this is what the Pats have to show for it so far meanwhile,

I think Brady's great but all he does is throw, someone has to catch, someone has to run. Randy Moss is the last great player the Pats brought in. Pats FO knows Brady and Belichick can always win the AFC East because no one else is ever any good. Miami is the only team that looks like they're trying to compete this year. But winning the Superbowl? Not happening. Not even close. They're going to go to Denver where Brady will lose to his greatest rival and Welker gets his revenge...if they're lucky.

That's the expressed intention but he went there thinking he'll get a shot if Ponder starts screwing up.

The Eagles continued to add to their secondary on Thursday with the additions of cornerback Cary Williams and safety Kenny Phillips.

So Eagles secondary is shaping up to be starting CBs Fletcher and Williams, Safeties Phillips and Chung.

So this eliminates Dee Milliner from being drafted. And any Revis rumors put to bed.

You need to chill.

Give Brady a defense who can stop other teams and you're set with the most dynamic tight end duo in league history. Got capable running backs. Good replacement for Welker. One of the best OLines in the league annually.

Don't need an abundance of weapons to win a title. You should know better than anyone, you won three without any elite weapon.

I personally don't like the Welker thing either for the Pats but they're still legit superbowl contenders. They just need to add talent to the secondary and they have the makings of the defense that can replicate the early 2000's.

He is a better at getting the ball, catching, jumping, etc...the only thing Welker might be better than him in is route running...but as far as catching goes, Amendola is better

Amendola would be a stud on any team...I'm not sure I can say that about Welker...I think much of his success is just being a system player

that said I think he went to another great system with Peyton...but I will bet you anything that Danny will have better numbers than Wes if Danny stays healthy

Sure, upgrade the defense. Great idea. Hey, I heard Ed Reed was a free agent. And heck, he talked about his desire to play for Belichick leading up to the Superbowl. Bring him in, offer him and offer him market value and the defense is looking pretty good...which is why he's in Houston, talking to the Texans. But you know, the D looked good when Aqib Talib was out there. So of course, he's being pursued by Washington and Indy. Oh, and Patrick Chung is also gone.

And I'm not even asking for "elite weapons." I've just been talking about guys like Anquan Boldin and Greg Jennings. Brady is great but he had some solid receivers in Brown and Branch to win the SB. They just restructured Brady's deal, got 25 mil under the cap, and what are they doing with that space? You don't let your best receiver go to your #1 rival. This is terrible.

Ok, Amendola is just this great, awesome, amazing receiver who only gets 3 TDs, 63 receptions and 666 yards (comforting to see that exact number).
