Re: Bill Allowing Armed Teachers Clears Oklahoma Panel
Idiotic parents are to blame IMO. Parent's w/ no clue their kids are building pipe bombs in the garage, parents who take their kids with mental issues to the gun range, etc. Teachers w/ guns... It's like America is becoming Somalia or some sh*t.
Re: Bill Allowing Armed Teachers Clears Oklahoma Panel
sweet jesus... this will probably be the first and only time i agree with longhorn on anything...
teachers are under attack in urban areas across the states. that, and it keeps getting worse. educators trying to do their jobs are becoming more and more fearful because of the rights of students and the litigiousness of parents and opportunists.
modern american culture stresses disrespect towards authority. whereas, most people going in to education are not really going in to it as a form of authority. moreso as a form of communication and 'feelgoodedness' about making a little difference.
or maybe i'm wrong on that. what do you think?
i have a few teachers in my extended family, and trying to do a good, ethical job has never been harder as i hear their stories. that is, if guns MUST be brought to school, i'd rather they be in the hands of the educators than the younger people filled with hormones and struggling through huge difficult issues.
you guys talk like teachers are the ones rampaging across the country's school buildings with their assault rifles.
what the godamn f--k are you talking about? 99% of the time it seems to be the angry student who shoots up everyone, not the teacher.
and yet you guys are insulted and offended by teachers being given a bigger share of the gun-lethal equation??

If we were talking strictly urban schools then I would agree with you. What urban school are there in Oklahoma? Its just some bullshit bill to appease the hicks living in that state.

No one breaks into homes in Texas because of gun ownership fears...perhaps kids will stop shooting up schools for the same reason
You act like kids are routinely shooting up schools.
Break-ins occur with far more frequency.
It doesn't make sense to proliferate so many weapons when these incidents are pretty far and few in between. And, if a kid is crazy enough to want to shoot up a school, he or she would take their chances regardless of anything.
As it's been mentioned before, this could persuade kids to attempt to disarm their teachers. And, no amount of "training" will make a teacher who's outmatched physically from stopping them.

are we sure this is to allow the teacher to carry on them or just allow them that have access to a gun that is locked up on school property?
Re: Bill Allowing Armed Teachers Clears Oklahoma Panel
go figure this shit happens in a dumbass state like oklahoma.
I know several teachers. i dont think a single teacher that I have ever met would actually *want* to bring a gun to the classroom. most teachers that i have met dont care for guns, and none of them started teaching because they wanted to become security guards.
Re: Bill Allowing Armed Teachers Clears Oklahoma Panel
Also isnt it ironic that the same right-wing morons that constantly talk about how teachers are overpaid and underskilled are now calling to put guns in the hands of these incompetent teachers?
