I think its the other way around, Jordan was never able to do some of the things Lebron has done:

- Disapearing in a Finals series, costing his team a championship.
- Pledging loyalty then backstabbing.
- Joining Larry Bird.
- Crab Dribbling.

Honestly though, and I'm not just saying this because I'm a Laker fan. MJ > Kobe, no arguments here.

When Kobe gets hot, he has to be just about the most unstoppable perimeter player the game has seen. He has been able to string together some really impressive performances, and in that sense, he is sort of a standard.

He isn't nearly as consistent as MJ, but when he gets hot for a string of games, he's damn impressive.

no when kobe gets hot he's the best player of all time. thats probably the main reason why most educated bball fans have him in the top 2-5 all time.

Most people have him in the 6-8 spot. I've never heard of anyone mention him as a number 2, 3 or 4 candidate. Occasionally someone tries to fit him into the number five spot, but even spots 6-7 are still competitive.
