When Kobe gets hot, he has to be just about the most unstoppable perimeter player the game has seen. He has been able to string together some really impressive performances, and in that sense, he is sort of a standard.

He isn't nearly as consistent as MJ, but when he gets hot for a string of games, he's damn impressive.

Yup.

Also, Magic Johnson is an idiot. Might be the worst basketball analyst on TV right now.

MJ's "PG stretch" to end the '89 season under Collins destroyed Magic's numbers at the time. And are undoubtedly more impressive than what LeBron is doing right now.

They mentioned this after the game on the air yesterday that a fan sent the numbers and stretch of games from Jordan to their twitter account, and then they got it verified. Which ISH poster sent it? OldSchool? Or hoopsecyclopedia?

What stretch is that? The closest I could find is an 11 game stretch where LeBron averaged 32.6 PPG, 10.5 APG, 6.8 RPG, 2.1 SPG on 51% shooting. He had 1 triple double in 11 games. Sorry, but it's not even a "triple double'ish" stretch when he only averaged 7 RPG and only had 1 triple double.

In his 11 game stretch Jordan averaged 33.6 PPG, 11.4 APG, 10.8 RPG, 2.9 SPG, on 51% shooting. He had 10 triple doubles in 11 games. He also had a 34-11-9 two games later, and a 34-14-11 game in what would've been game 15 of an insane stretch.

Typical pauk backhanded compliment, putting down someone else in favor of LeBron.

Jordan's stretch is obviously way more impressive. It was the first time he was ball dominant, akin to LeBron has played for much of his career as PG and look at the asinine numbers he put up.

34 ppg 11 apg 11 rpg and 3 spg on 51% shooting is utterly amazing. 10 trip doubs in 11 games? Absurd.

Do you even know what asinine means? ...and when Jordan played EVERYONE AND EVERY TEAM had higher stats.

Kind of similar to EVERY perimeter talent having career seasons from a PPG perspective in 2006 and 2007? Yea, I understand.

So, those numbers aren't amazing to you, regardless? They're better than Magic's at a comparable usage rate and position skill set. Totally demolished him.

Magic was on deep teams with a lot of ballhandlers. If you put him and Bird on teams with lesser talent where they could dominate the ball to that extent their numbers would be even crazier than they were. It's like Stockton, he never played with other adequate ballhandlers so his assists were even higher than they should have been.
