Blazers beat Timberwolves as Eric Maynor finds backup success
As he plopped down in the chair in front of his locker Saturday night, Damian Lillard gazed up a at horde of reporters cramping his space and caught someone standing on his dirty clothes three steps away.
“That’s how y’all feel about me?” Lillard said, half-kidding, half-offended, to the reporters who were spilling over from the locker next to him.
Lillard’s stall happens to be located next to that of new point guard Eric Maynor and the Trail Blazers’ newest acquisition was a critical component of their 109-94 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday night at the Rose Garden.
It was a rare moment when the postgame scrum of microphone holders and camera operators wasn’t swarming Lillard’s locker. And if Maynor has more performances like the one he had against the Timberwolves, the rookie might have to get used to having his personal space invaded.
