Definitely an overreaction thread. For the Spurs to win the championship or even get to the Finals it would have to be a situation where everything is clicking and all goes right for them, sort of like the '11 Mavs.
BTW All Net, in a Spurs vs. Thunder series I'd say they'd have the best player on the floor (notice the noun in singular) but to say Russell Westbrook has been better this year is severely underrating Parker. If anything they are on the same level at this point.
If the Lakers somehow manage to get to the 8th seed and the Spurs the 1st seed, I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers beat them.
I would be very surprised. Teams that could beat Spurs: OKC, Memphis. Clippers lose because of the weak coaching. LA is a mess and won't get past the 1st round if they ever get into the playoffs. Houston could upset Spurs IMO. Denver would give Spurs a good battle as always.
Not saying the Spurs wouldn't have won anyway, but OKC losing Westbrook and the Spurs facing them instead of the Grizzlies definitely made getting to the Finals easier.
Even with Westbrook i doubt this year OKC could have beaten SAS again.
OKC without Harden is way less dangerous offensivly plus the frontcourt is below average this year considering how bad Perkins regressed.
Seems like every year people have made outlandish predictions that the Spurs would make the finals and the past few years people were way off. This year was like destiny I guess. All the injuries for other teams and Spurs are looking healthy.
