for pretty damn cheap prices. i personally love the komodo sport LS. i have gone hiking in puerto rico, done crossfit, regularly run 5-10ks, and ran a tough mudder with them. great all around 5-fingers.
Had my KSOs for 4-5 years. I use it for biking, running, surfing, body surfing, beach combing, kayaking, every watersport imaginable. I love them to death. They have never shown any signs of damage. Vibrams are well worth your money
How much time did you spend transitioning to running a 5k or 10k in them? Did you experience any issues with injuries?
it took me about 3-5 runs of 3 miles before i got used to them. calves and legs will be sore at first because you are using new muscles. your feet will ache a bit because you won't have much padding.
i didn't experience any injuries, in fact i felt like it prevented some.
i used to get shin splints after 2-3 miles, but after running in vibrams, they have pretty much gone away. i didn't even get them when i ran a marathon, due to me learning to run correctly in the vibrams (i wore saucony kinvara's for that, wanted some more cushion for my first marathon)
Book was just too illustrate the benefits of barefoot running
This is exactly what vibrams do, they are pretty similar to running barefoot.
I've run in my vibrams on and off over the last 4 years, I go through phases when I love them and others when I feel like I'd prefer a little more support. Either way, I think everyone should give them a chance. They are a lot of fun.
I started on the KS0s and currently run short distances in a pair of Bikilas.
