Yeah, I know what you mean, I've been a Sosa fan forever and I'd love to see him get to the 600 hr club and perhaps even restore some pride to the Rangers. . .

Haha, true true, but I've got faith in ol' Sammy! He wouldn't be coming back if he couldn't do anything.

Sammy Sosa was the only reason I started liking the Cubs. He is still my favorite player besides Derek Lee

Correction, he wouldn't be coming back unless he truly thought he could do something. There is a big difference between thinking you can do something and actually doing it. I wish it weren't so, but I believe Sosa is done. Even if he still has a little bit left in the tank, do we really want to watch him struggle towards mediocrity? He should go now while we all still remember his multiple 60+ home run seasons (whether steroid induced or not), and not as a scrub struggling to make it into the league.

Yeah, you're right, he definitely should've quit while he was ahead. But wouldn't you love for him to see one final run for his last 12 homers? I'm stickin' behind Sammy all the way!

I think he wants to prove that he can play sans steroids. He's well aware that he left the game tarnished and is grouped with McGwire, Palmeiro and Bonds. If he can come back and have at least a decent year, he may gain some respect back from fans.

Yeah, well I'm hoping for that decent (or close to decent would be better than his year in Balt) year!

Anyone know anything regarding the numbers in his contract?

I believe he is, but he can still make it to the majors at any time.
