Default Re: Toronto is now North America's 4th largest city.

I had no idea that Toronto subway map was legit.

Nearly 3 million residents, one of the more globalized cities in the world, and the commercial hub of Canada and it only has 2 subway lines that in total combine for a distance of about 42 miles...

our subway system is slack, but that map (while hilarious) isn't entirely accurate.

this is what it looks like (including expansion construction, the Sheppard line and rapid transit):

For those whom are unfamiliar with Toronto based politics, debate regarding subway expansion has been a hot topic for oodles of years. They may never find an adequate solution to abate the vehicle congestion but despite the cluster on the roads, this city is love to the utmost...

Toronto is lovely city man...

The Sheppard and RT line don't cover much land and the Go system is more for city to city travel, won't really help you traveling within Toronto.

The TTC (transit system in Toronto) is a ****ing joke. Even beyond expanding their system, they need to ****ing learn how to stay on schedule and increase service on certain routes. If you are taking the bus you better leave like 10-15 minutes before the bus is suppose to come, because it could literally come that early and just leave. Taking the bus is beyond frustrating, especially in winter. Transit systems in other cities in southern Ontario, at least the buses, are so much better run and scheduled.

TTC if seriously flawed. no question.

it's slow and overcrowded.

Go train system are not subways. I'm sure those "other" cities have other trains and buses too. the graph was comparing subways.

And seriously, our GO train system is not reliable. You miss a train, you gotta wait another 30-45 minutes. Our city is an embarrassment when it comes to transit.

We need Eglinton lrt plus a Jane lrt, the Scarborough rt needs to be redone. A downtown relief line needs to be made and more needs to be done.

wasn't saying a train is a subway. clearly is not.

i said the maps made Toronto's transit system look a little worse than it is.

it's shit, of course. you won't find anyone to argue that point.

Been to Chicago, and it is amazing. Still not better than Toronto in my opinion, but both cities shit on 99% of the cities on the planet.

once Toronto gets their public transit woes in order, there will be no stopping this city. Like I said before, I believe that LRT projects will spearhead the future of this city and hopefully projects like the casino/hotel gets approved and we keep moving forward.

the scary thing is that those things I mentioned might never happened. All I know is that the things we have in place as of now are inadequate at best.

its really disappointing that Rob ford and the ttc are so idiotic and in unison they make one hell of a greedy special needs show. It's amazing and frustrating at the same time.

I just arrived (still at the airport) and the place looks like Tijuana. Hundreds of Mexicans arriving to work here, and apparently it's normal.

Is there any correlation?
