Default The Corleone Family: Re-Cast

I'm just gonna do the male leads. Feel free to add other cast members: Clemenza, Kay, Connie, etc

Vito - Kevin Spacey

Michael - Leonardo DiCaprio. At this stage in his career, he could pull it off. Ryan Gosling is right up there as well.

Sonny - Viggo Mortensen

Fredo - Cilian Murphy

Tom Hagen - Bryan Cranston

No Gosling's not there. What are you talking about? That's a guy with dead face, he was good in Notebook. That's that.

Blue Valentine
The Believer
Half Nelson

Those are just a few movies that prove hes not just a blank face actor. They are all varied in characterization.

I don't like Bale and Hawkeye for this. And replace Damon with Jimmy Kimmel.

Chris Hemsworth as Sonny has to be the worst suggestion of the thread, which is funny since it follows the best one (Jay Baruchel as Fredo).

I would probably go with a bunch of Italian unknowns. Can't think of anyone out there right now who would do those roles justice.

OMG OP those are some horrible choices. Most of those actors are pale ghosts and you're trying to pass them off as Italian mobsters??

Bale looks pretty good as Michael but I've never heard him do an Italian accent, although the man is a true professional and I'm sure can master it.

And you can't have DeNiro as Vito Corleone cause.......he was already Vito Corleone!!!!

I can't see Bale pulling off the beginning stages of Michael as a character. All naive and innocent. He's just far too intense all the time.

Pacino nailed it with how he seemed so tender like a choirboy in the beginning and then turned cold.

that's cool. people forget how young Pacino and Caan were when they filmed (1971) it.

i was aiming for a younger actor.

Caan is jewish. Sonny looked different from his family. a square-jawed matinee idol look.

read the book.

JGL would be a good choice for the role of Micheal imo, De Niro is perfect for Don Vito, Damon as Tom Hagan, as Kay Adams Gwyneth Paltrow maybe

Cranston would be a great choice for Hagen. The rest I disagree with. Mortensen is a great actor, but I think they can do better. I also like DiCaprio in more of an antagonist role, personally.

Thats an extremely stupid reason not to let DeNiro play older Vito. Take a lap
