JR Smith going OFF lately
Knicks guard J.R. Smith posted his third straight 30-point outing during Friday's contest against the Bobcats. Smith poured in a season-high 37 points in the 111-102 win on 12 of 18 shooting from the field. He made both of his attempts from downtown and also added two rebounds, one steal and one assist to his stat line, while logging 37 minutes off the bench. "Last run I was on like this was in high school and that was too easy," Smith said.
Analysis: Smith has really stepped up his production in recent weeks as he has become a scoring machine off the bench. The 27-year-old has now scored at least 20 points in seven of his last 10 games and he is averaging 25 points over that span on 48.8 percent shooting from the field. He is also giving owners nearly two made 3-pointers per game during his most recent run as well as 5.1 rebounds. Smith has always been known as a streaky player throughout his career, so owners should take advantage and leave him active while he is scorching.
