Default Which NBA career path is harder?

A) drafted #1, basically given your own team. You are the ball handler and handle the ball the majority of the time from Day 1, the teammates are picked to fill your needs. You are given a lot of minutes, green light to shoot as much as you want, and there are no other all-stars in your team to share the ball, shots, or minutes. The coach also respects you because you are known to be the new franchise player.

B) drafted #13, straight to the bench the first year with only 7 minute per game. You don't get to handle the ball, you don't get shots, you prove and earn everything, starting from the bench. The team already has a great system, and you have one of the biggest and most dominant all star player on your team, who demand a lot of shots. The team's system is setup to run through him first. The coach doesn't like playing rookies, and he'll bench you anytime he wants.

Which path is easier, which path is harder? How many players have gone through path A and succeeded, and how many have gone through path B and succeeded?

The one drafted to the arguably the greatest NBA franchise ever, with arguably the GOAT coach and arguably the most dominate force in NBA history on his prime

Is it if you can never prove yourself and get off the bench? Who would give you credit for those rings if you're on the bench the whole time?

Successful career. Becoming an all-star, defensive teams, becoming a great player, getting rings, climbing the GOAT ladder.

So Derek Fisher should be pretty high on the GOAT list?

Yes, and in Shaq's case, it was easier to win championships with prime Kobe than it was with prime Penny, prime Wade, prime Nash and prime LeBron.

That guy is an insecure LeBron hater. He's still hating on LeBron because he knows that LBJ is going to surpass Kobe if the Miami Heat wins the NBA Championship.

Shaq was undisputed best player in the league during the Lakers 3 Peat. I know you're a hardcore Kobe d.ickrider, but lets not act like it was all Kobe.
