Default Bevo Francis

Just read about this guy. Averaged over 50 ppg in college back in the 50's. He also had two games where he scored over 100 points, in one game he had 116 points and in another 113 points. His coach said nobody would come to watch 5 players score 15 ppg, but would come to watch 1 guy score 50 a game.

Only played 2 years in college, then went to play for the globe trotters for two years. Couldn't settle on a dollar amount for his contract so never played in the NBA, and after playing in the "eastern league," ended up driving a truck for a living (and making more money then NBA players did at the time). I've been wondering if anyone has any video of this guy playing, I looked on the internet and can't find any. Also how good would this guy be if he played in todays college game?

That's him in the middle, sorry can't find any videos of him. The video quality won't be too great during the 1950s anyways.

Damn. That's serious ballin.

You didn't say whether he was front or backcourt....I'm just going to assume he played close to the basket. Either that or he just had an unstoppable J or was the Lebron of his time and just barelled his way to the cup every possession lol.

I'd love to know what his game was like, then we really could try to make comparisons and see how he would have fared against later guys like Wilt, Russell, Lew Alcindor.
