Default I wish I had known about the dangers of hurdler's stretches sooner!

I should have had enough intuition to realize I was stressing my ligaments though.

Be a dumbass, I continue to.

Please state what happened. I try doing 30 seconds of stretching routine every morning, too.

Nothing happened, but I read that you shouldn't be doing these:

Instead you should be doing these:

Sole of your foot touching inner thigh.

I'd been doing the top one for years while running track, but it turns out your putting too much stress on the meniscus and overstretching the medial ligaments.

I've always been told to do the one on the bottom. The top one just looks horrible for your knee...

I'd been doing the top one for YEARS with no problems. I even leaned back for the quad part of it all of the time, but these were my younger jr. high and high school years. So, as I get older, the damaging effects may be more noticeable.

I read that the top stretch is also popular in women's soccer which has a lot of ACL injuries in it. It's fitting because I remember seeing quite a bit of female soccer players injuring their knees on a regular basis back in high school.

I used to do that as well and I thought it did a great job of stretching out the quads, who knew..

Now, I just do place kicks and kick my leg as high as I can with the leg being straight. It's a great stretch
