Default for prime

saw this today and thought of your thread on the stockmarket. Not going to bother to look for it, but a very simple slideshow about why what you (and many others) think about the stock market is wrong.

read them...they are just random factoids about the Stock Market that I pretty much already knew...

-"just because the market is doing well, doesn't mean your portfolio is..."

-"the economy can recover while stocks do poorly..."

etc

the only thing I really claimed in my thread was that the market going up is a good thing...and it is

I never said that it is a absolute proof that the economy is doing well or anything like that...

Market's having a down week which is to be expected. We aren't seeing as many wild swings as we did during the height of the crisis, which is a good thing imo.

Im certainly not claiming they are new or insightful, but you seem to have missed the point, which is that the stock market is really independent of any economic recovery (the main point of your thread).

eh, kind of...sort of

the main point of my thread was just to simply point out that the Dow hit an all time high

we are seeing recovery right now...your link even points it out

during the great depression the market collapsed as well as the economy

and during most 'booms" the market is also high

I think for the big economic picture they do kind of follow each other, but for the smaller picture they don't if that makes any sense...
