Right, that "could" include a non-religious god of some sort correct?

You're dead, who cares.

After this whole thing is over, you go to Heaven or Hell.

shlver, I think you're seeing it the exact same way I do

if you don't see the way I am almost positive they meant it, then you are saying that 18% of scientists and 12% of the public believe in some higher force that specifically does NOT involve a God...which I find extremely difficult to believe and a very strange sub-group for that poll.

I'm positive they meant 33% believe in a "RELIGIOUS GOD" and 18% believe in a "HIGHER POWER THAT ISN'T RELIGIOUS" (which could include a God or Gods)

The fact is you don't know what they mean when they say higher power. A higher power IS an ambiguous description, you trying to superimpose what they might mean is just obfuscation.

Your interpretation of what the responses might mean doesn't matter.

I'm confident that my interpretation is the correct one, I feel like I DO know what they mean...

the way they worded it is so vague that you are forced to interpret it one way or another...I beleive I am doing it the way that makes the most sense

it's either the way I see it or a very large % of people believe in some non-religous higher power that they know is without a God

Do you also look at polls that have an option "other" and start making preconceived notions of their preferences? Of course not, because it is intentionally ambiguous because they do not fit in the other choices.

People who are talking about reincarnation are forgetting about aliens. Why would we only come back on Earth, why not come back on another planet as some other race?

right I think they mean "higher power" in an ambiguous way that it could mean "with" or "without" a God...that's about it, other than that we know it is a higher power of some form that does NOT involve a religion.

I'm not sure you are catching on to the debate we were having...the way they worded it, and the way that LJJ reads it, is that it is NOT ambiguous at all...it would specifically mean "a higher power that is without a God"

and if they did mean that way then they left out the "non-religious who do believe in a God" sub-group

I don't care about the debate you were having.
