I am still a Dubs fan. But I have given them my all, all year round, plus the other 20 years or so. But they just don't have it this year and I figured that it would be best to find an alternative team. I have always hated the Lakers because I was always jealous of their success and I was hateful for the fact that the Lakers always ate up the Warriors in every way when they faced each other. But there were a couple of years when I just started to appreciate Kobe and couldn't help myself because it seemed like he was pure magic whenever he put the ball in the basket at will. So I developed an interest. An on and off love/hate thing.
There was a time when I hated San Antonio. What's ironic is that I rooted against the Lakers all those years when they won the championship. But they could never win when I rooted for them like last year against OKC when they got bounced. Same as the Spurs. They won whenever I hated them, but they always lost in the playoffs when I rooted for them.
And I see the old Kobe back. It's fascinating. To be honest, I was very excited earlier in the year to see the Lakers play. I thought with Nash, they really would break the 72 win season, like MWP said. But then they started to suck so I thought the hell with em, I never liked em anyways. But now they are just rolling. And the Dubs don't deserve my respect because they fail to show up. So now I have 2 teams to root for, but when the Dubs lose I already expect it. But at least get to admire Kobe's unstoppable offense. Lakers have 2 old guys in Kobe and Nash. Gotta appreciate before they retire.
Your not a Warriors fan at all, not a true fan anyways. You constantly bitch and moan about them and now your talking about jumping ship and I presume its to the Lakers just because your team is losing some games YET THEY ARE STILL IN THE PLAYOFFS.
The Warriors won't miss you if you jump ship, and I don't think to many other fan bases would really want you their either.
I've tried. I went to a small college in New England with no TV or internet access on campus. Then, I moved 2000 miles away. I've seen them play a dozen times in two years. And I still care. It can't be helped. You'll always be a Warriors fan. I'll always be a Wizards fan, even though they're not willing to spend money to win, and can't draft a good player.
Your team actually has a future. If Bogut gets healthy and as good as he was in Milwaukee, and your young guys continue to improve, you're a championship contender in 2 years. That's a much better future than most other teams. You have a great coach too.
