Xavi has been training and is apparently available for the match after recovering from a hamstring injury. One would expect that if Barca's midfield general is ready to go, he'll start, and as long as he's at least close to 100% that's a boost for them.
Milan will be without Mario Balotelli (both injured and cup tied), but they knew that already. The news that Giampaolo Pazzini will miss the match is a bigger blow both because he was great in the first leg and because the other possible replacements aren't the same kind of striker. Philippe Mexes and Kevin-Prince Boateng should both be available despite carrying minor injuries.
Projected Lineups:
As we know Barca need 2-0 to tie ( extra time, penalties ), 3-0 to proceed, and if they concede a goal they will need to score least 4 goals. Tought but not impossible.
If Milan can pinch a goal it should be over. Hopefully they come out with a similar game plan. Its not smart to sit back and let Barca come at you. If you do, they will get some decent chances. You might get lucky, but they will get decent chances.
I still see Barca advancing unfortunately, but I'll be rooting for Milan. Feel dirty rooting for a Italian team...
though if barca doesnt advance i might either go broke or even worse beaten to death in the upcoming days... i talked a lot of shit and made bets with pretty much every football fan in town
there are rumors going around that we might start with 4 freaking forwards, messi, villa, pedro and adriano or alves... oh boy if this happens one goal for milan is a given...
With Barcas current form and lack of coaching its going to take a massive performance from an individual player to advance to the next round.
an individual player? i would say at least 2-3 of the stars should have one of their best performances of the season if we are going to advance, especially those two in the photo i just posted, everyone else should be at least decent. if one player from the lineup especially the defenders or the GK has a bad game we are screwed. We have to be perfect.
