Default Sugar Shane Larkin

Dude just drilled a step-back 3 DAGGER against the Illini to help Miami advance to the Sweet 16!

Larkin's gonna be a serious player in the league.

We were already up 2 at that point after Shane hit the 3, w/ all the momentum in our favor...let's not make it out like it was some crazy game-altering missed call.

It was a great shot and maybe Miami wins anyway, but the call with about 35 seconds left was really one of the worst I've ever seen. It was so obviously off of Miami, both in real-time and on replay. I don't care that the play wasn't able to be reviewed, it should have never been a question.

Illinois played a really good game and they deserved that opportunity to tie the game or take the lead. It has to be tough having to pack your bags after a horrendous call like that.

Officials are graded on each game in the tournament and the ones with the best marks get to continue on. I hope that crew never officiates another game.

And, I'm no fan of Illinois.

Are you kidding me? Illinois went from having side out with a chance to tie or take the lead to having to cross their fingers and hope Miami missed free throws. I'm pretty sure you would feel a bit different if the shoe were on the other foot.

And, again, it didn't matter to me at all who won that game. I just hate to see officials play such a huge (and horrendous) role in the game.

Btw, having to face Illinois in the second round as a No. 2 seed was a very tough draw. They are capable of beating anyone in the country on a given night. Miami deserves credit for holding on in a very close game (all the way through) and making their free throws at the end. I'm not trying to take away from what they did.

But that was a horrible call and, yes, it altered the game.

but it WAS a game-altering shit call. it forced illini to have to foul and play that strategy. miami hit all their FTs, so the basketball gods did not fix the situation. it was never a 1 possession game after that missed call.

There was no guarantee that we tie it or take the lead, but momentum? You hit a tough three and that's momentum in your favor? I'd say the only thing that went in your favor was that blown call. The game was back and forth all game. It was anyone's game until that call was made and we had to play the foul game.

That said, I had Miami winning this in my bracket pool, but we played a hell of a game. Brandon Paul deserves to be in the NBA, for sure. I hope DJ makes it too cause he's a hell of a defender and shooter.
