A Tribe Called Quest would be the 90's Bulls with Q-Tip as MJ, but they went commercial so I have a hard time calling them rappers (I consider pretty much everything after N.W.A. to be pop). Of course, the NBA is also commercial, so...
As for true hip-hop, I'd go for: Skank Mister (MJ), Dr. Faustuss (Pippen), Arm2099 (Duncan), KIJ (Shaq), Harlem (Sidney Moncrief), Eror (Kareem), Tahlay (Moses)
Carmelo = Lil Wayne: popular but should not be considered top 10
Jamal Crawford = Cam'ron: irrational confidence but can have great moments.
Kwame Brown = 2 chainz: horrible in every possible way
Michael Jordan = Nas: The greatest of all time
Ben Gordon = Prodigy: his first few years were great, then who knows what happened.

Melo????? Melo is not even more popular than Lebron, Lebron is def Lil wayne and at nas being m.j
Rakim = Tim Duncan: The kids may not appreciate the oldschool style, but one of the greatest ever.
Cam'rom = Vince Carter: Style was incredible, but did not quite have the substance to be one of the very best.
Lil Wayne = Gilbert Arenas: Pretty awesome during a very brief peak, but became totally insane, played with guns, and remained highly paid but ultimately flamed out.
Pastor Troy = Kenyon Martin: Extreme passion and rage coupled with effective ability.
Kobe/Shaq era Lakers = Wu-Tang Clan: Totally dominant during their early years, but sort of self destructed due to some internal issues.
50 Cent = Allen Iverson: Went through some struggles in early life, but those struggles later established a certain image that helped drive a cultural icon status.
Lebron = eminem/ people claim other players are better but players really don't want non.
Kobe = Jay-z/ letting other stars get their shine on but ready to show anybody that he can carry the load/ plus both got a wack ass supporting cast, they sell the tickets.
Wade = Drake/ a beast at what he does but will never get his full credit because there is another name in his squad more popular than he is.
Westbrook = The Game/ potential to be a HOFer, can be cool and humble, but when he's in his mode, somebody might get beat the **** up. for better words "fiery"
Kyrie Erving = Kendrick Lamar/ the next big superstar who everyone can like. very intelligent and can def hold his own.
Shaq = Biggie/ big and ugly but in their prime......unstoppable!
MJ = Nas/Jay-z/2pac/ whenever you talk about the best to ever do it, the name pops in everyone's head.
Grant hill = snoop/ the game might change, but they're still in it after so long
