Deng is the best trade option, because we'll likely lose him for nothing anyways. Luol is uber loyal, so who knows. His next contract might be awesome, taking that "over-paid" spotlight off his back.
Boozer is a REALLY tough trade because nobody wants him. We're stuck with him, and any Bulls fan that knows the FO, understands he will not get amnestied.
I really don't know why would they trade Deng and why would they let him go? I thought Chicago is the 3rd biggest market team and they already saved quite a bit when they got rid of Brewer's and Korver's contract plus letting Asik walk. I thought Chicago is about winning?
Corey Brewer is a player who could be a really nice pickup at a reasonable price who could backup either Deng or Jimmy (if he starts next year). He's a tenacious defender who has improved his outside shot a great deal. Also a good rebounder for his position and has the ability to drive to the basket. He was also college teammates with Noah.
For the Bulls to improve, we desperately needed some of the cap room that Boozer eats up. I like Boozer now, I didn't before. But he's making about 2m too much a year. He took the kind of money, that a nothing team should give him to sleep at the bottom of the playoff ranks, not a team(with Rose) that would be competing for best records every year, and a title contender.
If he took less money at a chance to win a title, then most people that are highly critical of Boozer now, would be pretty happy with him. His contract may have been the difference between the Bulls getting a legit 2 in the last few seasons, and where we are today.
That being said, he will likely not be traded. And if you think the Bulls will amnesty him, you have serious brain damage. Put down the crack pipe.
