Default Which team will deal the final blow to Lakers season?

Their last seven games are brutal:

VS Memphis: 50% chance of winning
@ LA Clippers: 0% chance of winning
VS New Orleans: 90% chance of winning
@ Portland: 10% chance of winning
VS Golden State: 55% chance of winning
VS San Antonio: 20% chance of winning
VS Houston: 75% chance of winning

Their expected wins for these seven games are: 0.3+0+0.9+0.1+0.55+0.1+0.75 = 3, and going 3-4 for the rest of the season will make them 42-40. The Jazz is also expected to go 42-40, with losses to GS(road), OKC(home) and Memphis(road). Note that before the last game Lakers are expected to go 41-40, while Jazz is expected to be 42-39. Should this happens, the Lakers will be eliminated already before their final game against Houston Rockets since Utah holds the tie-breaker.

So what do you think? Which team will destroy Lakers playoffs hope for good? Theoretically it can happen as early as the Portland road game, but realistically only Golden State, San Antonio and Houston have a good shot of being the killer. My vote goes for San Antonio.

You should not put too much egg in Stern's basket considering he could not help them to win in 2004.

Fcuking lakers. Just clean up your act and get into the playoffs already. Playoffs are infinitely more entertaining with a spurs-lakers first round instead of a bs spurs-jazz series. Sorry jazz fans, even you guys know it's true

This.
Lakers will be in the playoffs guaranteed.
In Stern's final year he will have Heat vs Lakers finals, first time 8th seed make it to the finals.

These conspiracy theories are silly. If Stern dictated the outcome of games THAT much, the Heat would be on a 30+ game winning streak.

I'll admit that shady things have happened in the past that would make one think that the NBA's front office decides the outcome of certain things, but the fact of the matter is, sometimes it's just mere luck.... or lack thereof.

You are correct. The second one then.
The 99 Knicks also benefited from David Stern. The 99 ECF was rigged too like the 2002 WCF.

Do people really want the Lakers to miss the playoffs? Sorry, but I don't feel like watching the Jazz (arguably the most boring team in the league) play the Spurs in the 1st round again.

Spurs trolling the league and letting OKC slide up to the 1 seed out west. Lakers match up terribly against OKC. Meanwhile San Antonio vs Houston is an easy first round pass.

It doesn't matter. If the Lakers don't win out, they aren't making it. Utah can wine a few games and make it in on a tie breaker. The lakers have to be BETTER than Utah and I don't think they can be.
