Default Does somebody have a stat of New York's record with & without Amare?

It seems like the Knicks just win game after game without Amare.

they are better off with melo as PF maybe, and floor spacing is better

but an important point though, knicks did look bad even with amare off the bench.i dont know , its like whenever he is available even if he plays one minute everyone around him starts to suck lol

amar'e is just no good at fitting himself into a team context if he's not the primary scorer. he's a talented scorer but everything else about his game is severely lacking.

Amare was great in his role for the Knicks. There are so many other variables that changed when Amare went down, not to mention they were playing just as good for the 2 weeks before he went down, namely defensively.

They have to shoot as well as they did today to find consistent offense vs a team as stacked as the Heat without consistent offense from Amare, even if off the bench.

Last year Knicks had a cupcake schedule during Linsanity, then thougher schedule+injuries+Melo came back, and all the sudden Melo was a cancer.

Knicks had to reintegrate two player coming of injuries, Amare and Shumpert, that weren't a part of the training camp, that is not going to help the team, on top of that players kept going down, Felton, Melo, Kidd etc... Felton was the only guy that penetrated the defense, Jr only recently started to attack the basket, so Felton going down was pretty bad at the time.

Amare was great, efficient, his defense improved with each game, Knicks were allowing only 0.7ppg with vs without him. Melo was racking assists when he was on the court.

If the Knicks make out of the 1st round, expect the Knicks to do some damage with Amare on the second team.

Seriously. If Amare comes back playing the way he was for the month or so prior to his 2nd surgery or anywhere close. Basically giving them a post presence when Melo is off the floor, and extra boards (12-15ppg in under 30 minutes)....I'm back to believing they're the best team in the league.

Back to having the dynamic lineups that can cause havoc in the postseason. The Knicks coasted during this season too, in terms of watching minutes, and resting players. Kidd said it in November, that this regular season was a dress rehearsal for the playoffs for this roster. This team can play small with the best of them, but when they're healthy they are also the biggest team in the league. Defense with Tyson and Kenyon and Camby , and offense in the paint with Melo and Amare, and I'm totally shocked at what they're getting from JR right now.

I would unload him for anything I could if I was them. Kind of like the Joe Johnson trade. Just get him gone.

Amar'e actually played well when he came back, so it's definitely not his fault team played mediocre. They were playing mediocre before he got back as well.

Basically, Knicks had red hot start, then mediocre for a while, then a red hot finish. Amar'e was only there for part of the mediocrity.

I know you guys hate PER but:

That all being said, ideally Amar'e should be traded for pieces that fit better with Melo/Chandler/JR core, but that's another story........

Amare wasn't even playing bad this year. I saw him playing OK defense, taking charges, and being pretty efficient with the ball working himself into the offense. The Knicks early success was moreso based on having 4 shooters on the floor and all of them were hot for the most part. Obviously that doesn't hold up over an 82 game season.
