Default Where do the Lakers go from here?

If this truly is the end of Kobe Bryant's career, what do the Lakers do now? Is it worth signing Dwight Howard after this season? Is it better for them to rebuild instead? Discuss.

I believe Kobe will retire next season, perhaps earlier
His ego won't tolerate mediocrity.

Lakers reloading process will just begin a little bit early

The same place they should go whether or not Kobe ever got hurt.

Amnesty Kobe and rebuild around Howard. With only Howard and Nash on the cap in 2015 they should be able to get some serious remodeling.

Kobe is a cancer at this point and doesn't provide any utility at all. All he provides is high volume scoring and an extremely high usage rate. In short he is one of those guys who NEEDS the ball to do anything, but isn't nearly good enough to warrant having the ball all the time.

I wouldn't pay 5 million for him let alone the 30 the Lakers do. Give me Ray Allen over Kobe any day.

Rebuild around Howard. Kobe can probably play for another two years at a limited capacity.

But Howard is the future. Try and lure another big name UFA to L.A.

They will be fine. As sad as kobes injury was they will need his cap space to rebuild with Howard. At the end of the day they still have a guy who led an average Orlando team to the play offs, sign the right shooters and pg and use l.a to lure in a big name and their set again

If the Lakers miraculously won the championship this year, would they still fire D'Antoni.

You mind filling me in on how that's even a possibility? I feel sorry for LA if they have to build around Howard.
