Default Daydreaming before sleeping?

Who here does this? I read somewhere that 70-80% daydreams before sleeping.

As far as I know most people make up a fictitious worlds or play out their life, I have never experienced this and I am interested in what you think about when you go to sleep.

I do that to help me fall asleep. Usually I try and come up with comic book characters and invent powers and story lines for them. The more fanciful the easier it is to drift off.

I've been writing a book in my head for several years.

Can you fall asleep without "dreaming" before sleeping?

You don't do it? I thought it's automatic or something

Anyway, I'm pretty delusional when I daydream before I sleep. I've imagined I'm the GOAT basketball player, cured cancer and AIDS, walked on Mars, and lived my life with sophisticated wisdom

Yeah. It really does help me go to sleep. Just as an example, I sometimes think about myself along with a group of friends in different scenarios of fighting off hordes of Zombies or other fantastical creatures. As weird as it sounds, it works and I had trouble sleeping before. It's funny because I was just thinking about this the other day, I was wondering how long I had been coming up with these fantasy just to help me sleep. I realized I had only started doing it recently because it helps me fall asleep. I find those percentages interesting as well, because I'm almost certain that before I just tried to fall asleep without thinking about anything.

Hey Bill, how are you?

How old were you when you started daydreaming?

Just daydreaming in general? I don't know. I would assume I began when I was a baby or whatever the typical age is for when people start daydreaming. I'm pretty sure even dogs daydream about bacon.

No, where you make up a fictitious world or whatever and live in it before sleeping, you said you started doing it recently.

I'm not sure. I don't recall doing it on a nightly basis before last year. I'm 19.

Maybe it's because I started watching the Walking Dead

Everyone dreams, but some just don't remember the dream afterwards.

And yea the little drifting, dreamlike trance that you go through just before you fully fall asleep is nice.

I do dream but I was asking about the self directed dreams people have before sleeping.
