Default 4 reasons why the Cavs will FAIL this season

And by fail I mean not win the title. I dont think any cavs fan will be happy with less, but they will have to be

1. The Cavs are not an elite team, they are still no better than a team with just one dominant player surrounded by scrubs for the most part or decent players or Great players who are past their prime and are then not as good as they once were and more importantly less consistent for shorter times.

2a. The Orlando magic, the magic are an elite team, they have more than one dominant player at their position and are not predictable in that you dont know who the stud will be on any given night. The Magic have the cavs number and nothing at all has changed. the addition of Shaq really does little to change the outlook of the matchups. Its still a position the magic win and the main mismatch of Lewis at the PF spot is still heavily exposed and sorry but Moon, Powe, Andy are non factors in guarding Lewis or against the magic in general. the magic win the frontcourt battle, the backcourt battle the coaching battle and the bench battle. there really is no realistic chance that the cavs can beat the magic in a 7 game series. all the media hype in the world wont change this...it didnt last year either. no analysts biased opinions or homerism will change the reality so if the cavs cannot get past the magic then they will not go to the finals thus wont win a title.

2b. The Boston Celtics and LA Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. All three teams are elite and all three teams are clearly better than the cavs in the front, back court, coaching and bench. The only thing the cavs have going for them is officiating bias that comes with lebron, and if you disagree then how else does lebron average less than 1 foul against him per game? and went 5 full games with none at all. thats bias and ridiculous.

4. Karma, the Cavs did so much celebrating last season without having ever won anything and so many little unbasketball related on court stupidity that its still in the air and their arrogance has yet to recover from it if ever it will. Lebrons recent arrogance and claiming that no one shakes hands after defeat is just a snowball building up to bigger failures. Add Shaq to the mix and the arrogance and pre game negligence will just skyrocket, add the fact that they have a spineless coach and you will see it rise even further. There is a reason people hate lebron and the cavs and the reasons were ALL brought about by the Cavs and Lebron themselves and they do deserve the hate and they haven't surpassed their arrogance yet therefore Karma will take them out once again.

Realistically they are not on the same level as the spurs, magic, lakers , celtics or even the nuggets. All these teams can function well without their star player and still be elite without their star player. the cavs are nowhere close to that level. so don't believe the hype. you should have learned your lessons last year

I would think the Celts have to be favored in the east. Followed by Magic, then Cavs.

That said, Shaq is a PLAYOFF PLAYER. He has long needed someone to carry him TO the playoffs, but once he is there, he can be dominant.

If he solidifies the interior, the Cavs have a good shot.
Mo Williams and West will be just fine this time.... they had to get that first butt-pucker out of their system.

They are nearly as talented as the lakers if you include depth as a factor, its tough to argue with that anymore

2a. The Orlando magic, the magic are an elite team, they have more than one dominant player at their position and are not predictable in that you dont know who the stud will be on any given night. The Magic have the cavs number and nothing at all has changed. the addition of Shaq really does little to change the outlook of the matchups. Nothing has changed defensively, but for the Cavs offense, its another story
2b. The Boston Celtics and LA Lakers. Both teams are elite and both teams are clearly better than the cavs in the front, back court, coaching and bench. Agree with the Bias part, and the celtics are a step ahead of everyone in terms of talent, but the Cavs aren't to far off from the Lakers
4. Karma, the Cavs did so much celebrating last season without having ever won anything and so many little unbasketball related on court stupidity that its still in the air and their arrogance has yet to recover from it if ever it will. I do wonder if the Cavs will have an 08 Mavs season, but if they don't they are better than ever.

I hate to defend the cavs, but what is in bold is truth.

... finally someone gets it.

LeBron can't carry a mediocre squad to the Finals again. Boston, Orlando, LA, Denver, San Antonio, etc... all outmatch the Cavs as a team. Once he realizes he's playing with overrated big mouths (see: Mo Williams), and solid/great players who are just way past their prime (see: Shaq & Z) he will leave in 2010 when he see's the team has no cap space, and no future.

LeBron to NJN in 2010... Book it.

They overachieved last year in a weak top heavy East.. There is a reason why their record against the elite in the NBA was 3-7 (Orlando, Boston, LA)

good opinion. my opinion differs from yours.. oh yea what has changed offensively besides the fact we added scorers where it used to be total bums? how can u say moon wont be a factor guarding lewis? dont overrate lewis like he's a dominate scorer. He's a good scorer wit a sweet jumper but he can be guarded by moon to some degree

why are 80% of your post bout the cavs?

Cavs, a team that won 66 games last season, will not fail. You're mentally handicapped. It's ok, you relate to many others here.

2 years ago in the playoffs vs. Toronto, Lewis abused Moon any which way he wanted to.. on the block, isolation, all of that... Moon will not be a minimal factor offensively, and a decent factor defensively...
