What do you think?

In the first 6 series, 5 of them a western team holds the homecourt advantage. I think the east utterly sucks.

Making teams fly across the country back and forth several times a week just isn't practical.

But I agree, it would be better off in an ideal world.

Um, Memphis and Chicago are very close. Closer than if it was Memphis vs. Clippers as it is now. Same with San Antonio vs Atlanta. Very close.

The only really bad one on there is NYK vs GS. Who cares? Suck it up. If it was New Orleans vs Portland nobody would be allowed to complain even if it's worse than any East vs East travel.

We've been flying at 480 miles per hour for too many decades now, we need faster & affordable transport methods, it would make the dream of playing against euro teams come true. Well, at least Euroleagues dream..

Spread the games out or change it to a 2-3-2 format like the finals. Really it takes a couple hours on a private jet to get across the country these guys aren't killing themselves. Anyways the best 16 teams should make it regardless of conference.

You're talking about this year in particular, with the first round specifically. What about if the Knicks have to face the Clippers in a future playoff match-up? What if Houston has to play the Nets?

Again, not a very pragmatic solution without certain variables being addressed. I'd like to see it happen too, but there's a reason why it hasn't in the decades of NBA prominence.

What do you think?

It's confusing to do this with Houston, LAL, and Chicago tied. I think it should technically be Houston at 11, Lakers at 12, Chicago at 13.

The tie breaker for 2+ teams tied is:
1. Winning division (doesn't matter here)
2. Better winning percentage in all games between tied teams. Houston went 4-2 in 6 games against LAL and Chicago, Lakers went 3-3, Chicago went 1-3.

1) MIA vs 16) BOS
2) OKC vs 15) UTA
3) SA vs 14) ATL
4) DEN vs 13) CHI
5) LAC vs 12) LAL
6) MEM vs 11) HOU
7) NY vs 10) GS
8) IND vs 9) BK

-----
That would mean a bracket like this:

1) MIA vs 16) BOS
8) IND vs 9) BK

4) DEN vs 13) CHI
5) LAC vs 12) LAL

--

2) OKC vs 15) UTA
7) NY vs 10) GS

3) SA vs 14) ATL
6) MEM vs 11) HOU

------
Where I'd pick:
1) MIA vs 8) IND
4) DEN vs 5) LAC

2) OKC vs 7) NYK
3) SAS vs 6) MEM

-----
Where I'd pick:
1) MIA vs 4) DEN
7) NYK vs 6) MEM

----
Where I'd pick:
1) MIA vs 7) NYK

Where Miami wins.

Exactly great point, its shameful that a team thats got a better record in one conference than a team in the other misses out.
