He's still getting paid for this year, 16 million. I don't care that it's technically not guaranteed, he's still getting at least 30 million out of this imo. You're getting Revis not Javon Walker.

Oh in your opinion. I got you.

Anyone know what the conditions are on that one draft pick?

"The Jets also receive a conditional fourth-round pick in next year’s draft that will become a third-rounder if Revis is on the Buccaneers’ roster on the third day of the 2014 league year."

I dont remember the specifics but its something like if hes on the roster at the start of the 2014 season its upgraded to a 3rd.

Barring a major unforeseen event, the Jets will get a 3rd out of it.

I see the deal as pretty much a 2 year 32 million dollar contract with a team option each additional year thereafter. No way we cut him for at least 2 years which essentially makes the contract guaranteed.

Schiano + Revis? Ouch. Bucs are gonna be in the playoffs next year most likely.

Revis will play first year of contract, make probowl, then hold out the next year and demand more money...

Then he will get that money, get injured, and never play again...

When it comes to Revis there is almost no guarantee. I'd like to think he be there 2 years at the least. Almost want to believe it but Revis track record. Makes it iffy. Who knows if that guy all of a sudden wants guaranteed bucks or doesn't want to play there holdouts etc etc

Why would he hold out? He'll make $16 million every year if he shows up and doesn't get cut. I don't think anyone is paying him more than that.

Someone on another board posted this:

Quote:
Quite the opposite actually, b/c there are no bonuses, he either plays and makes $1M per game, or he sits at home and costs the Bucs nothing, is fined $50K per day and can't sign anywhere else b/c he's under contract. A holdout is contract suicide.

Makes sense to me. I mean the man is getting a million a game. I just can't fathom him holding out making that kind of coin.

So yes, this draft is loaded with depth, but it doesn't hurt too much to give up a mid first rounder (especially for the best CB in the league) because the talent level of these players is so even.

I think you are undervaluing some prospects.

Floyd, to me, is an elite prospect. He's going to be a force in the NFL.

Joeckle is as good as Long was coming out of college, IMO.

Fisher has elite potential. He could be Joe Thomas.

Lane Johnson has probably the highest potential out of any left tackle to come out in numerous years.

Cooper & Warmack are the best guard prospects to come out in quite awhile, and they're both in the same draft.

Dion Jordan has potential to be an elite OLB. His skill set, versatility and unique athletic ability are rare.

Milliner checks all the boxes, aside from his shoulder.

Vaccaro, to me, is going to be an elite player at his position....I feel like he's a better player coming out of college than Mark Barron, and he went 7th overall is what many consider to be a great draft.

Lettuce be reality here. The Jets need playmakers on offense, which they will not get with their picks.

Tavon Austin at 9, Eifert at 13.....best play-maker and by far best tight end prospect in draft. Sounds good to me.
