I think that if Graham worked on his lateral movement, and reduced his muscle bulk, he could be an effective 2 guard, and Villa would be fine off the bench at either 3 or 4, maybe even better, so this lineup could work

___/Calderon/Barrett
MoPete/Graham/Denham Brown
Gay/Villanueva
Bosh/Villanueva
Nesterovic/Humphries/Sow

Nevermind draft Aldridge and hope he can hold it down in the middle.

If true (I got 225 off the draftexpress mock) then there you go, he has the size, now he just has to show the toughness.

Didn't colangelo say that if they wanted to run really hard they would just stick bosh at the C?

You never know. Remember when some analysts said Dirk would be nothing more than a poor man's Keith Van Horn? Bargnani has a good chance at going #1, if for nothing more than how Dirk's tured out. Sad but true.

Toronto is the stupidest franchise in NBA history. Now they're choosing between the 2 most certain busts in this draft? His name is Lamarcus Aldridge. Draft him. Draft him or trade the god damn pick. You already have Villa at the 3.

Raptors NBA TV - In a live press conference, Bryan Colangelo announced that the Toronto Raptors will most likely utilize the top pick in the draft and are deciding between two prospects.

Colangelo did not reveal the players being targetted.

This combined with other rumours in the past week pretty much points to it being a choice between Aldridge and Bargnani. We all know the Raptors' fascination with Bargnani and now it's being reported that most other NBA team have the Raptors picking Aldridge.

Although if they do decide they want Bargnani, why not trade down to #3 or 4 with all the talk that those picks have been offered. I'm beginning to think that #3 + Brevin Knight deal was never offered because what possible reason is there to NOT take it if they want Bargnani??? If Aldridge is the choice then I can definetly see the reason for not trading down as Chicago will strongly consider him.

I really don't see gay being a bust. His % is much lower then that of bargnani. There are not even in the same league in that category.

Ehh, don't put much into anything Geewiz says about the draft. Here's a guy who said teams wouldn't want Bargnani even if he was GUARANTEED to be Dirk simply because he doesn't fit a need.

Stick to commenting on the Wizards, it's something you do well.

EDIT: Here's more about the pick:

Quote:
TORONTO (CP) - Toronto Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo says he will keep the top pick in the NBA draft, and that he's narrowed his choice down to two players.

Speculation is Colangelo will go with either Italian forward Andrea Bargnani or LaMarcus Aldridge out of the University of Texas with the No. 1 pick.

With no clear top pick in this year's draft, there has been much speculation about Colangelo's plans, and he dispelled those rumours when he met with the media on the eve of Wednesday's draft.

"At this point, it seems to be that we are more or less locked in at the No. 1 spot," Colangelo said. "It's the day before the draft, and it appears we will utilize the pick."

Colangelo said he has taken calls from several teams since the Raptors won the draft lottery.

"There have been quite a few inquiries about the pick, nothing we felt was enough to change our course and use the selection," Colangelo said.

"The offers that we received were not in the calibre that we felt it required to move the pick."

The Raptors have the top pick in the draft for the first time in franchise history.

Why is Bargnani the biggest chance of a bust? Because he's european?

Stereotype.

he's not guaranteed to be Dirk so it's irrelevant. And no matter how good he turns out to be you still have 3 players who are all the exact same and absolutely nothing else. Not only will Aldridge better, but he'll be a better fit, and he solves a GAPING hole, so what is there to think about.

You guys aren't in so desperate a situation that you need to take wild chances trying to land a 5% shot at a superstar. You have Bosh, you have Villa, you have Mopete, you have a chance to nab a great center in this draft, you're a PG away from a great future. Why take a stab in the dark to draft somebody you already have two times over?

Gay is more likely to be an above average player than Bart by a long shot but you already have Villa and Mopete do you not? K, who do you have at center?

I don't believe Loren is signed through next season kwajo.

Bargnani WILL play center if Toronto drafts him. He weighs ~250, is tall and can block shots (led his league in that category), and, while his upper body is skinny, his lower body is where the real meat is at - making him hard to push off the block.
