Default Is CP3 even a great or good PG anymore?

I mean lets look at this way. The guy has always been a coach for his team because he has had shoddy coaches throughout his entire career and that is his main strength -> leadership and coaching.

He isn't anywhere as fast or agile as he use to be, his jump shots aren't as great as they use to be, his 3 pointers aren't consistent to say the least and he can rarely blow by or do lay ups anymore..And I am saying this as a person who enjoyed watching CP3 when he took over games in NOH. Remember his big dunk on dwight howard?

But seems like he scores his points because he gets his way by telling his team mates exactly what he wants them to do e.g. pick here go there pick here again run there etc etc. If the team got a good coach like pop, spol, doc etc CP3 wouldn't even be able to call in game plays all the time and it seems like thats the only way he scores points.

Just find it hard to see this guy as a super star anymore I mean his jump shot is very average, 3 point shot very average, speed and agility very average...

His height and speed are not a good combination, but don't forget he's working against two of the best backcourt defenders in the league anchored by the DPOY with a coach that won't change things up and teammates who didn't show up

Chris Pauls greatest strength in his peak years was his atheleticism, Mid range pull up jumper anywhere, super agility and leadership.

If he had a good coach he wouldn't need to be a leader and calling out plays all the time and the the rest just ties in together...e.g. Without his agility/athleticism it makes it harder for him to get that distance to take mid range jumpers which is why he is not as good as he was...The dude needs to ADAPT. get a killer 3 point shot down pat and work extremely hard on his side steps (to shoot in PnR situations. Chris Paul hasn't adapted his game AT ALL. Lebron changes every year, Wade has a great off ball game.

Even in the regular season his mid range isn't as good as it was...he work with 2 big front court men who will obviously kick it out often but no...

He needs to be a 1B to someone. CP3 and Durant will be deadly.

His shooting hasn't been terrible. He's at .500/.375/.964 for the playoffs. The problem is he's not being able to move around the defenders who aren't guarding him, which is usually the strength of his game. Now when he is doubled it's never coming from critical places in the defense and the Clippers are so used to the defenders moving away from them and them not having to run around.

That said, the other problem in this series is the Clippers not being able to stop the Grizzlies front court in any way shape or form. Paul's offensive rating is 127, highest in the playoffs. If they could get some stops we might not be having this conversation

I'm told he's a top 4 player. By now he should've at least led a team to a WCF (2008 Hornets were good enough).

Look at CP3 athleticism taking it to dwight howard

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDjzvJYWtoc

If he was Prime, He would take it to Marc Gasol and Split those slow foot work front court Memphis easily. Now everytime he shoots a mid range shot I just think...man this kid is like what 27? if he lost his athleticism this early adapt!

He's being guarded by the best defensive back court in the league. Mike Conley and Tony Allen on defense are no joke ... and then on top of that his cast is giving him minimal help. Memphis just plays great defense. CP3 is still playing well, doing all he can. It's also more difficult for him since his knee injury. He used to be very quick before that knee injury. No he has to use change of pace dribbles to get by opponents.

He had a lot worse thrown at him in NOH and every team use to always put their best defenders on him. Did it phase him? no. Not saying Mike or Allen are not good defensive players but you get my drift..

So far CP3's time in the Clippers has not come to fruitation. He actually did more and won more in his NOH days despite so called 'super star' Blake Griffin and superb deep cast....Something is not right and it starts at the top..
