Default Assuming Josh Smith leaves Atlanta, what team would be best fit?

Unless Atlanta makes a big splash, it seems all but likely J Smoove will leave the ATL.

The question I have- where do you see him going? What team would be the best fit for a guy like Smith?

Here's how CBSSports sums it up:

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/ey...eserve-the-max

Quote:
consider his stats: 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.8 blocks, a 17.7 PER in a down year, for a 27-year-old combo-forward with no injury history, high versatility, and phenomenal defensive skills.

I have no idea, maybe the Celtics can use him.

I would rather Houston keep Asik and get Josh Smith.

And get a backup center.

The Hawks can go after Al Jefferson and that would be a big splash.

Horford, Jefferson, Smith in the front court is three guys who can get 60 points and 30 rebounds per night cumulatively.

It's weird with Josh Smith since he's been in the league for a long time but still quite an enigma on offense. So long he's been an awful 2nd banana on offense, and got a down year as the main opton.

I remember there were stretches where it looks like he could play the 3 but its like his "3" skills just disappear at crunchtime.

Interested to see what a legit PG can do for him

There's no assuming about it, the ATL fans WANT him gone, he wants to much to stay, he's gone.

There's no best fit for him, if SA took him then maybe, but I don't think he's worth the hassle for Pop who's likely entering his last years before retirement. Denver and George Karl are loaded on the front court. Same with Chicago unless they amnesty Boozer.

people don't watch but maybe like 4 Hawks games a year, and Josh Smith's stats look good to the eye and he dunks and makes blocks.

What the majority of people don't realize is that he's lazy on D, especially on PnR D (They always pick with Josh's man) and boxing out on rebounds. He's turnover prone on O and has extremely poor shot selection. Adding to the fact that he's getting older and will be 30 in a few seasons there's no reason why he should get anything more than 6-7 mil a year

IT would be nice to pick him up in SA
him and Duncan would be a nice defensive front court

If Smoove really is leaving I'll miss him down in ATL. Won't be the same seeing him play for another team.

I say Houston would be the perfect fit for both parties. They can offer him the money he wants and they need an athletic SF/PF that can do everything.

Pop would kill him on the spot

He is one of the lowest IQed and uncoachable players in the league

Bobcats have a nice assortment of scrubs, he'd fit perfectly.

I think he would be great in Cleveland with Kyrie running the pick and roll.
