consider his stats: 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.8 blocks, a 17.7 PER in a down year, for a 27-year-old combo-forward with no injury history, high versatility, and phenomenal defensive skills.
Re: Assuming Josh Smith leaves Atlanta, what team would be best fit?
There's no assuming about it, the ATL fans WANT him gone, he wants to much to stay, he's gone.
There's no best fit for him, if SA took him then maybe, but I don't think he's worth the hassle for Pop who's likely entering his last years before retirement. Denver and George Karl are loaded on the front court. Same with Chicago unless they amnesty Boozer.
people don't watch but maybe like 4 Hawks games a year, and Josh Smith's stats look good to the eye and he dunks and makes blocks.
What the majority of people don't realize is that he's lazy on D, especially on PnR D (They always pick with Josh's man) and boxing out on rebounds. He's turnover prone on O and has extremely poor shot selection. Adding to the fact that he's getting older and will be 30 in a few seasons there's no reason why he should get anything more than 6-7 mil a year
