Why do you keep saying "limited to the budget"? Yeah in free agency they were limited to a budget, but w trades its limited to the value of the trade able assets at within 120% of their salary.

The idea that Boston is supposedly willing to trade Wallace and Courtney lee for amare is huge in making a trade. That means the Knicks can combine all of their assets (which I don't get why you don't think chandler, shumpert, and hardaway don't have value) for one main piece. (A pg)

The budget is not to pay the penalty... Not many teams can take on that much salary or positions. PG's are the most important position in the league and quality PG's probably wont be traded for the aforementioned players. Gerald Wallace is not good anymore and Lee was decent years ago in Orlando.

But how do those players make us better? Wallace would be coming off the bench and Lee is a lower tier SG. And I'm all for trading away Chandler but Chandler AND Shumpert. You do realize that's your starting C and SG right? If we give both away, we'd better get back more than just cap space.

The guy gets killed here. This team puts him in a position to look bad often. It would have been good to see how MWP at PF and Chandler at C would look on the court.

Ironically they beat the shit out of us without Rose.

We had a chance when he returned.

To be honest at this point clinging to favorite players makes no sense now...they are all garbage.

The team needs a boost just to make the playoffs, forget about winning a round.

What this team has been the past 2 years isnt what it is this year. They dont have an identity. They are finding their way and it will take time.

I'd give them time until February to get their sh*t together.

If they can't just blow it up. Trade everyone (including Carmelo) for young prospects and draft picks. We can get something valuable in return for Melo and Tyson. Even Shumpert and J.R. are solid trade assets.

We've done that before. You need to address the bigger problem. Management. We keep hiring guys who have ties with other guys whose friends with other guys. OK so we blow it up. Then we blow our money on another overpaid guy (i.e. Curry, James, Stoudemire etc). What we need is a competent GM who can go out and get coaches and talent that works together. Not just sign guys coming off of good playoff series for more than they're worth. Not signing guys because of past accomplishments and their name recognition.

The Raptors and Knicks are reportedly "trying to construct a deal" that would send Kyle Lowry to New York.
Toronto is focused on the future and Lowry's expiring contract makes him a likely trade chip, while the Knicks are desperate for help at PG with Raymond Felton (hamstring) out 2-3 weeks. There aren't any details to report and it sounds as though the talks are in early stages, but it would be somewhat surprising if Lowry is still wearing a Raptors uniform at the All-Star break.

I dont mind. This guy is just a little to prone though but he is an expirer.
