GOAT center. Absolutely no weakness (unlike Shaq who you can't count on at the end of games because he can't hit FTs).

Did I mention GOAT center?

It's too bad people can never stop slobbering over Olajuwon for one second and give Ewing and Robinson credit once in a while for incredible careers.

Hakeem would be top 3 right now. He might be the best of the 3 but it would be a debate night in and night out. He's top 10 for sure. Oh yeah Barkley is the man too

Hakeem would easily be the best player in the game today.

Overall From 1986-95 Hakeem Was the 2nd Best Best Player in the Game and Barkley 3rd. Jordan was Ofcourse 1st But He Had Pippen, Which Overall Made Him Win More.

Yes true but that seems more due to the timing of the circumstances. Who else got to play a solid 9 years during that time tenure other than those mentioned players? Patrick Ewing? The second half of Magic's career?
Isiah Thomas? Seems like he got it due to default.

Sounds Like You are Hakeem Insecure Because You Watch Today´s NBA Stars and Inmedietly Through Hype Feel They Are Greater Than Those of the Past because of Rings? Its About The Level of Competition they Faced NOT Rings.

Simply Put It This Way, The Dude Lead His Team To The NBA Finals in 1986 in his 2nd Year....

He Was Not Publicaly... But For Real NBA Fans.... Already The Best Center in the Game.

It Was No Coincidence He Won Those Rings Later On His Career.

Lets Also Remember that in 1986 They Faced the Greatest Frontline in NBA History and Bird In His Total Peek Physicaly (a 1979-88 Bird Was Something Else), Metaly and In His All Around Game. So They Lost. Before Ralph Sampson´s Injuries and Offcourt Problems Exploded, They Where True Championship Contenders but Again, It Was the 80s: The Most Difficult Era To Win a Ring (after the 60s) and Cannot be Compared to the 00s and 10s.

Then Again, in the 90s It Was MJ-Pippen/Grant and Phil Jackson Leading the Way To Star the Decade. He Got His Chance When MJ Left for Baseball. Hakeem and the Rockets Where Hungry as Hell for the Ring. The Rockets Won Over The Knicks In a Tough Finals in an Epic Finals of 7 Games

In 1995 The Addition of Clyde Drexler (Who Was Ring Hungry) Made Them More Difficult Too. So It Was Perseverance Not Luck. Hakeem Played at a Very High Level Till he Was About age 33 When His Game Declined.

He Would Easily Be the Best Player in the League Today.

I'm not sure what you're trying to insinuate but hype or not rings matter to an unimaginable degree. Hakeem wouldn't be top 10 with out his and that's the point. You say he lead a team to the finals in 86 yeah I know lol. He lost it regardless of anything else and while I give him props for getting there NO love if you don't win it. The only reason he gets props for it is because of the later half of his career when he got his two that made his career average 2/3 which is great. He also won it when Jordan was out which isn't his fault but he played enough years at that point where if he was that great you would of won one earlier. Hakeem didn't retire in 95 either. He got schooled by Kemp the next post season. Hakeem is great and he could be the best in the league right now depending on what his team is but it would still be arguable. Lebron and Kobe would still give him a run for his money and I would pay money to see Duncan bang with him in the post right now. Hakeem wasn't unstoppable. He was a dream to watch (pun intended) but he could be beat.

Growing up, I liked Ewing a bit more than Olajuwon and Robinson. He's also one of my dad's favourite players of all-time.

All great centers.

ANYONE Can Get Beat. If Charles, Hakeem, Stockton and Malone, Ewing, Miller etc Had A Third Player Like Rodman or a Player as Verstaile-Cover End to End Like a Pippen They Could Have Beaten Jordan´s TEAM. Its Not Like Anyone is Unbeatable, No Single Player Is.

Hakeem is in the Top 10 GOAT Players IMO Not Because of Rings But Because of LEVEL OF PLAY.

I Was There To See It Live. Hakeem Was More Dominant than Bryant, James and Duncan because he DOMINATED BOTH ENDS OF THE FLOOR. HE WAS THE BEST AT BOTH ENDS OF THE FLOOR. He Could Score 40 on 60% FG, Grab 15 Rebounds, Dish Out 5 Assists and Get 4 Blocks Like It Was Nothing.

There is No Way Duncan Could Guard Either Hakeem or Barkley in Their Primes. Maybe a 35 Year Old Hakeem or Barkley, Yeah Sure but Before That Not Even Close, They are Too Agil, Quick and Crafty Around the Basket for Duncan.

Hakeem was very good but wasn't some dominant player that people make him out to be.

No he wasn't.

As much as I like Hakeem and I think he's one of the greatest, there are people that can argue that he's an era specific player as well.

Exactly I was there to watch him live too and it isn't at all how this guy is explaining it. And I love Barkley but prime Duncan is schooling him lol. Prime Hakeem and prime Duncan would be a battle and as far as Kobe goes I can't even talk to this guy cuz I know his Kobe hate runs deep.
