Default Book tips!

Howdy!

I am gonna start a new job in less than two weeks which will require me to take the train every day, the time to work will take me an hour or so I need something to read so the time can go faster.

I will work for at least three month so I need as many book tips as possible. I do not prefer any special genre or type of book as long as it is good.

I'll list some books I have been looking at and then I hope for you all to say if it is good or not.

The Count of Monte Cristo Alexandre Dumas?
Emma by Jane Austen?
The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fitzgerald
Men Without Women Ernest Hemingway
Nineteen Eighty-Four George Orwell
Lolita Vladimir Nabokov
To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee

Books I have already ordered

The Picture of Dorian Gray Oscar Wilde

Which one of these should I not order and can you give me more tips!
Thanks

Animal Farm by Orwell seems to fit the type of book you're looking for.

It's a great story but a tough read. If you enjoy the writing style of that era, it's well worth it.

My sister has been pushing really hard for me to read Divergent, it is one my list of books to read.

Thanks for the website!

You must read 1984 by Orwell and Lord of the Flies.

Nonsense.

Lolita should go to the top of your list. You need to finish the book to understand it.

If you like classics, I would put Moby Dick on your list.

You'll love 1984 and to kill a mockingbird. Probably two of my top five favorite books.

A book in the same vein would be Fahrenheit 451. Also The Catcher in the Rye is another good classic.

I have read Lord of the Flies, in English class loved it

And I have read great reviews about 1984 so I'll definitely read it in time.

Yeah I am trying to read the great books from the old eras, so classic books are number 1 on my lists.

To Kill a Mockingbird has been up on my list for a long time it has already been ordered.

So hard to choose which one to read first with all them on my list. So far I have ordered:

To Kill a Mockingbird
The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Great Gatsby
Monte Cristo
Emma
Lolita

For the nice price of around 25 dollars.
