Default Cell Phone/Tech Expert Question

So I switched to a new phone, but there's a notification/message sound effect from my old phone that I want to be able to keep. Just wondering if there's any way to move a non-mp3 sound effect to my new phone?

Try and google the name of the sound and whoever makes the phone. See if it's available as an MP3 online.

My old one was the LG Double Play and I bought a Google Nexus (which is also made by LG) but they switched to different sound effects so it's gone

And Knicks, I tried that but the old sound is called "pop" so when i google "LG Pop Sound effect" I just get a bunch of people asking what to do if their phone is making a popping sound lol

What's the file format of the sound on your old phone? Why does it matter that it's not mp3? Is it saved to the phone's storage or some kind of removable memory?

It's showing up as an ogg file. When I go to put it on the new phone it doesn't copy

What do you mean it doesn't copy? Does your new phone just not recognize it?

If that's the case, just convert to mp3.

i have both plugged into the computer and up in the "folder" view. I've dragged everything else, pictures, music etc onto the new phone, but when i go to drag those onto the new phone they won't copy. I drag it and it just goes back into the old folder like i'm not doing anything

Convert them to mp3 then drag them. Or can you not drag them anywhere?

There's probably an easier way to do this, but that should work.
