Default Similarities between this 2013 ECF (Mia vs Ind) and the 1990 ECF (Bulls vs Detroit)

Miami being Chicago
Indiana being Detroit

I just couldn't ignore the similarities. Like Detroit, Indiana is a defensive minded team that gets contributions from a bunch of guys. In this series Miami has looked alot like Chicago before they won titles, a superstar (LeBron & Jordan) that didn't get much help from teammates.

Let's look at the series' numbers...
Jordan - 32|7|6 on 47 FG%
LeBron - 29|7|6| on 52 FG%

Pippen - 17|6|4 on 43 FG%
Wade - 15|5|5 on 44 FG%

Grant - 12|12 on 41 FG%
Bosh - 11|4 on 41 FG%

The only difference is Indiana's frontcourt does most of the damage while Detroit's backcourt was their true strength, but they are both defensive minded teams that don't have a true elite scorer.

I said it in another thread, but the big difference is the actual strength of the Pacers as a team. They won 49 games, had the 25th best offense and barely beat the Knicks. And don't have an all time player like Isaiah. For a team everyone says is historic, this is weak competition.

They're a bad matchup for the Heat, and Wade/Bosh can't get off on their man. The Heat just aren't an ATG team.
