The theory is that if the two best teams are in the finals, then it's incredibly difficult for a team to win 3 straight, so one of the three games being played away the number one seeded team should be able to win. Whether that's true or not comes down to opinion
2-3-2 is ok, you were good enough to make it to the finals so you shouldn't care about where the game is.
my only problem with 2-3-2 is that casual fans and old people always ask questions and then act like its some sort of completely new and weird concept even though they have already watched the NBA finals for many years
Really its whoever has the second best records advantage? Win one away and you have a much better chance to win 3 at home to finish it, why the hell do they do this format? Its shit.
It actually favors the home team I was reading on one of the other threads that very few away teams have won the 3 straight home games they get and in that scenario the second best team needs to win 2 away games to get the title
