Jose Calderon is currently the starting point guard, Morris Peterson is the starting two guard. At backup point, we have Andre Barrett. Behind Peterson, I can't even think of whom we have, I don't think anyone, but I am very tired, so there is probably someone I am forgetting.
So we have 1 real guard, 1 unproven guard, and a 10 day contract that had a good 10 days.
Barret can be waived at any time with hardly any loss at all.
The Raptors need some athleticism and defense in at the 2-guard in the 2nd round (Bobby Jones or James White). I wouldn't be surprised to see Colangelo take Gansey though but I doubt he can be effective in the NBA unless he has a good PG feeding him open shots.
Can anyone who may have seen him play describe his game? Is he mostly a jump shooter that can replace Matt Bonner or is he a low post presence, is he a good defender? Any input would be appreciated.
i think he's what we wanted matt bonner to be all along. a tough inside player with a nice outside stroke... not terribly big at only 6'8, but can definetely bang in the post and make things a little more difficult for the opposition.
Thanks Tech, I just hope he is able to come over and adjust to the NBA. I think it will be much easier for him because he chose Toronto, having Calderon to show him around will be nice for him, and then the city is very diverse. One thing that is not being mentioned is the money, how much money will he demand, I personally hope it isn't much, but I can definately see a player who is a star in Spain wanting major money to come over to play.
