From the media session on Wednesday

Are the ISH hater brigade gonna watch that and seriously say they don't respect the guy just a little bit?
Hahaha re rambled off a million sports cliches. It was pretty amazing.
"It is what it is"
"putting that uniform on"
"doing it for my teammates"
" I'm not supposed to be here"
except for the fact that he's been coddled his whole life and groomed to be doing what he's doing. So yeah, apart from that he's totally not supposed to be there.
I def respect him now.

So he didn't work his ass off to get where he is? He just woke up one day and was a great basketball player?

If you can't respect a decent human being who makes mistakes and overcomes them with hard work and love of the game you are just a miserable person. You're a negative, toxic personality. Enjoy being a loser for the rest of your insignificant life

I mean you could just get up there say a bunch of BS if you wanted to. So i don't really watch press conferences and interviews for stuff like that.

That answer did come out of Lebron pretty smoothly and there were no pauses or umms or you know's and all of that so it sounded real and from the heart. I wouldn't put too much into it though...but it was cool. On to game 7 though.

Those individual phrases are pop culture and cliche', but the content and meaning of his whole answer is certainly not cliche.

That question itself has probably only been posed to about 2 or 3 players before in history who have been hated and criticised as much as Lebron.

And he said that yes, he's accepted the criticism and it won't stop him from playing the game he loves and that he's been blessed to play. Go find me another time a player has said something similar...I'll be waiting

Ever since he's won the championship he's been pretty real in his interviews etc.. I like the honest Lebron.
