I can honestly say that i've never broken down and cried in a movie, but having said that I can list a few that were sad. Pursuit of happyness, John Q, and Man on Fire.
Seriously? I was laughing through most of that ridiculous movie. So implausible and manipulative, I really hated it.
Never cried but the only ones I've come close to were Vanilla Sky and Shallow Hal... really. The scene where Hal goes back to the kids hospital after he's back to his normal self is one of those moments.
Yep. Just like I laughed through I Am Sam. When movies are seemingly going out of their way to beg you to cry (and doing it poorly), it just doesn't get me. Add to the fact that the whole story of the film was ridiculous... yea, just wasn't feeling John Q at all.
anyway, Hannibal Rising made me feel sad. well at least the first part, when an innocent young boy lost his parents to Hitler's blitzkrieg, so he was left to take care of his little sister... who was then cannibalized by World War II looters.
