Default Duncan >> LeBron

Duncan didn't need to be on a superstacked team to win multiple titles. The Spurs are the antithesis of the current Miami Heat.

Ginobili and Parker barely make it to All-Star teams year after year. They're very good players but you'll be hesitant to put them in the top 10 best players every year.

Duncan and the Spurs also kicked prime Shaq and Kobe's ass twice in the playoffs.

Duncan had two very good complimentary players and won 4 titles. Kobe had a Euro softie as a second option and still won another 2 titles.

LeBron needed a top 5 all-time SG and a top PF to be able to win titles.

For that reason, I consider Duncan and Kobe greater than LeBron.

Your dumb ass probably doesn't even know the history of the game, or you wouldn't be making these dumb ass statements.

Duncan landed on a 50 win team essentially straight out of college. David Robinson out injured the whole season comes back next season and puts on a 22/11 season in a limited 33mpg.
His supporting cast was as good as any in his first and second championship run.
As for his 4th, he went against a Cavs team who has to be by far the worst team in recent history to get into the finals.

So what really makes his titles any more the impressive?

Spurs did it the right way... that's for sure.

But with that said, it's not the only way. As long as you bring home the silverware, does anyone REALLY care that much?

Actually in 2012, Bosh was out for Round 2 and the ECF, and he was in the process of coming back during the Finals.

And in 2013, Wade was definitely playing hurt and I suspect that the extent to which he was hurt will come out in the next few weeks...just yesterday it came out that he needed his knees drained before Game 7.

You can ignore this if you want to and just pretend that Wade was in peak 2009 form though.

Duncan at his best was a monster. Monster on D and won a title with 2nd year Parker, rookie Ginobili, Stephen Jackson, Admiral on his last legs, and Speedy Claxton. Not to mention they also had Malik Rose and 41 year old Kevin Willis. Not exactly a great surrounding cast. And they also won 60 games.

So Duncan's stacked team wasn't as good as Lebron's stacked team.

Listen to yourself. Duncan, Parker and Ginobili joined forces, how is that so different than Garnett, Ray Allen, Pierce joining forces any different from Lebron, Bosh and Wade? People act like Lebron was the first to join up with other players. Even Malone and Payton did it. Only idiots diminish the championship wins because they teamed up with good players or players got hurt that season and it needs some kind of asterisk. Hello, injuries have happened since the beginning of the game. Does that mean every year should have an asterisk? "b-b-but it was big stars..." F-king Idiots.

Duncan is better than LeBron at checkers, not basketball. LeBron won back to back MVP's + titles, something Duncan could never do. He did this with a #2 option averaging 16/5/5 on .498 TS and a #3 option averaging 12/7/2 on .524 TS. Duncan also never had a historic regular season like LeBron, leading a team to 66 wins, 27 in a row, having a 31.7 PER and .640 TS.

Duncan is perhaps the 7th greatest player ever. LeBron is definitely greater than him.

please tell me which is the wrong way. if the rules allow it, it is the right way. Only losers say things like "wrong way" when rules clearly allow it. Be a man and accept defeat. did you see Pop say anything about that? If anything, Miami was smart and team like OKC were lucky. It is better to be smart than relying on luck like OKC/sonics did with their draft picks.
I am sure lebron brought up the offer to come to cleveland to both bosh and wade but Cleveland is such a shit place that no top 20 player will go their willingly as a FA. Jordan played for chicago which wasn't a great team but still had a good front office and chicago is a really big market and way better city to live in than cleveland if you are rich.

How is it different? Parker and Ginobili were both Spurs draft picks 2 years apart.

You really dont know how is it different?? Parker was a 19 year old kid when he joined the spurs with just two professional years of experience in the french league and Manu was a star in Europe but a nobody in the US.

No matter how you slice it its not the same as joining two established superstars.
