Nobody said the NBA was a democracy did they? What do you expect? The NBA is a company and as a president is his responsibility to make his business flourish in the market.

Look where the NBA is now. GOAT american professional sports commissioner?

Stern took over in 1984. By that time, the Finals weren't on tape delay.

Honestly, I've been watching the NBA since about 1985, and I can say I've never really liked Stern. He gets too much credit for the League's success. Hell, how hard is it to market stars like MJ, Magic, Bird and Barkley?

Some good things but tainted by Years of Lopsided officiating accentuated by, Tim Donaghy, 2002 WCF and 2006 finals among many others. Heavy-handedness, arrogant. 2011 Chris Paul debacle.

David stern stopped Chris Paul from coming to lakers just so that Lebron would stop crying about not winning titles.

He also saved the NBA from dying, took it from an afterthought to the clear #2 sport in the country, made it international which has completely changed the way games are now played, and turned it into a star's game, which for better or worse has greatly increased the image of the sport.

Nevermind what he did for the players and franchises regarding money and what not.
