Deco retires

Quote:
Deco, who will turn 36 on Tuesday, helped Fluminense win the Brazilian league in 2010 and 2012. He also won the Rio de Janeiro championship last year.

The left-footed midfielder played a total of 686 matches with eight clubs and the Portuguese national team. He scored 116 goals and won 23 titles, including 11 with FC Porto, where he played from 1999-2004. He left Portugal to play with Barcelona, where he twice won the Spanish league. Chelsea was his last club in Europe. He left the team in 2010 after winning the Premier League that year.

Deco, whose full name is Anderson Luis de Souza, left Brazil early in his career after not being able to secure a place on some of the country's top teams. He decided to seek Portuguese citizenship after realizing he was not going to earn a place in Brazil's national team. He quickly became a regular with Portugal and helped it reach the final of the 2004 Euros and the quarterfinal four years later.

Deco began his career with Corinthians in August 1996. He did not disclose any future plans.

he was one of the best players in the world from 2003 to 2007. a complete midfielder. a maestro.

He had ONE good season two years ago and he was never the best keeper in England. I would be happy to give him the title of best English keeper in England though.

That season happened to coincide with a year that Vincent Kompany was actually healthy and in peak form.

Do you see it as a coincidence that since Kompany has started missing all his games with constant injuries suddenly Hart gets exposed?

2 years now Hart has been making schoolboy errors that make Calamity James look stable, and even Robert Green. The hype of being "Top 5 keeper in the world" coming from the English media has obviously gone to his head and he doesn't have the skills to back it up.

Ben Foster is the better English keeper now.

Atleast 9-10 keepers in England who were better then Hart last season and this season so far as well.

Mancini was right.

Begovic deserves to be #1 for one of the top clubs in the world and play in the Champions League, I just fear that Man City will buy him and he will sit on the bench undeservedly behind Hart because Hart is English.

MEANWHILE-What happened to Jack Rodwell? What a wasteman, England could have really used a player like him, now he is wasting in the man city reserves.

Isn't Hart the goalkeeper who let in that horrid US goal in the World Cup that let us get the draw vs. England?

No that was Robert Green but Hart lets in lots of weak goals similar to that one and is much more confused and useless when it comes to dealing with crosses then Green.

City need to do something about the CB problem. Garcia is utter trash and Hart continues his poor performances.

Pellegrini wants to bring in either Pepe or Demichelis.... Pepe would be my choice... he's still a great defender while Demichelis is on decline and into his 30's...

Diego Lopez has been playing very well since he came back to Madrid to anyone who wants to be objective. Casillas must be doing something wrong in training because I'm sure Mourinho AND Ancellotti would choose to drop a club idol if he was truly the top keeper on the team and gave them the best chance of winning.

Diego Lopez has been amazing so there's no reason to complain really, it's not like he's been stinking it up out there.

How is that, Oscar, De Bruyne, Hazard and Schurrle are all starting along with Lampard and Ramires, definitely not the most defensive midfield, it's the same midfield used against Hull and Aston Villa.

Mourinho with the 4-2-4 Moyes wont know what to do

Think Mourinho is really working on running the team through Oscar, that's the right thing to do he is going to be a superstar soon.
