Almost our entire starting lineup is carrying a yellow card.

Gerrard is not as good as Lampard, and he wasn't ever universally accepted as better. Lampard was always ahead of him in Footballer of the year awards.

I mean seriously. Both box to box midfielders, but one shits on the other in terms of stats to the point that it isn't close, and he wins a whole lot more.

Its not like a Silva and Mata comparison where the stats are close but you can see one clearly impacts the game that little bit more. It really is clear cut.

How come if Gerrard was one of the three best midfielders in the entire world, he couldn't take England anywhere and didn't even stand out as England's best player?

he didnt have enough room to operate... a midfield with lampard-gerrard never really worked... not to mention scholes, beckham, joe cole, hargreaves and such..
gerrard stayed at one team for all of his career despite all the ups and downs, offers from other clubs etc... and even lead them to a CL title... Enough for him to be cemented as an all-time great.

still as far as im asked the best midfielder in that period was Deco... basically a mix of xavi and iniesta. maestro.

So when Gerrard had better players around him then the scrubs he had at Liverpool like Milan Baros and Harry Kewell he wasn't able to stand out or assert himself?

Staying on one team doesn't mean he should be thought of as better then he actually is.

Gerrard hurt England, because all he ever does is go for the home run pass, the epic long shot, and tries to be "Stevie G" like he was for Liverpool, only forced it way more. That shit works against Crystal Palace but it doesn't work against good teams, which is why Gerrard never stands out for England.

Of course if you have Paul Scholes on the team, you don't build around Gerrard, that would be idiotic.

If he was really top 3 in the world, it doesn't matter who his teammates were or what formation he was in, he would stand out. For England at major tournaments, Gerrard always was mostly anonymous.

In 2006 Beckham was the best player as Gerrard did nothing. In 2010, probably Jermaine Defoe was England's best player, as Gerrard did nothing once again. I can't even remember anything he's done in Euro tournaments. Stop making excuses for this guy. He was never as good as the English media wants you to think he was.

Blatter admits Qatar designation as 2022 WC host "may have been a mistake"

The fact these corrupt leeches are ruling world football is mind-boggling.
