I think if Bayern built the team around him, he would be Robben right now.

It's the stigma of being a U.S.A. player. They don't want to build around him.

Ignoring these ignorant fools, I'm one of those that thinks Donovan was a super player who could have actually been very good in Europe. In the modern game where you play with one forward, it's difficult to find a spot for him, but in a two forward setup, I definitely wouldn't mind him.

Don't know if it has been talked here but Sepp Blatter, after all those bullshits he made, still wants 2022 World Cup in Qatar to be played in November.

Should you rather not choose a country that usually is 50c in summer as a WC host at the first place, or there was too much money stuck in your throat at the time?

European football leagues need to take a stand if that happens. Tell Sepp to **** off basically. Stop the WC for champions league, la liga, premier league, etc.? Yeah right.

I thought euros were supposed to be smart?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. His best position is in a CF role right behind the striker followed by a right winger IMO.

Yep, very embarrassing for an Eredivisie side to lose to a semi-pro Luxembourgish outfit.

@Nick Young -I think the 5 best USA players right now are Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley, Altidore, Jones (not including GKs).

We used to have really good centerbacks but the new generation coming in there are no standouts or even slightly above average players

It's been reported today that German-American CB John Anthony Brooks was called up by Klinsmann for the friendly against Bosnia on 8/14. He's one of the best young CBs in Europe and should be starting full time in the BL this year...so he may be the answer to our shaky defense. The only problem is that both he and Besler are both left footed and pretty much exclusively play LCB.

Can't wait to see the game. I was supposed to go watch in Sarajevo but I had a change of vacation plans.

Yep, it should be a lot of fun. If the US wins on Sunday, they'll be riding an 11 game winning streak into that game and Bosnia is obviously a very good team. I'm sure it'll be against a sold out, hostile crowd too, which makes it all the more fun. I'll be happy with a draw. What's Bosnia's projected lineup for the game?

The US will most likely only call up the guys based in Europe and some younger guys.

8/14 will be a fun day. Armenia v Albania and US v Bosnia

Landon does get overrated by some, but the disrespect he also gets is just . He spent two months in Everton (IIRC) and won player of the month right away. Kind of crazy to say he couldn't be a regular starter for a higher mid tier team in the EPL (by higher mid tier I mean a squad that is in the 7-12 or so range). Easily the best player for the USNT, topping Dempsey with ease.

Can't wait to have him back for the Hex.

Panama should be a tough match up though, expecting a narrow 3-1 win.

Wow, JAB 6'4, Onyewu 6'5, THE TWO TOWERS SHALL RISE AGAIN

No one will be able to get past these guys.

We really are stacked at every position now if Onyewu gets fully healthy.

Jermaine Jones, Maurice Edu and Michael Bradley are one of the hardest working midfields who can compete with anyone (they already beat the Italian, German and Spanish midfields ).

Donovan and Dempsey and Altidore are all elite goalscorers, our fullbacks Chandler and Johnson are beasts

There is only quality on the field

WC14 Hop on the glory bus now!
