What's the average age a tennis player becomes washed up? Its seems like these guys decline at an extremely young age. Federer has been on a downward trend for a while (i think) and what is he 31 or 32. And Nadal just lost well before the final.

It's actually later now than it ever has been. In the past, when you hit 30, you were considered a senior citizen in the Tennis world. Now, you see some players peaking in their late 20's, and still having success in their early 30's.

And despite the 5 set match, I'll take Djoker on Sunday.

And McEnroe is right about Nadal and Federer, but for different reasons. Fed has definitely lost a step, and beating some of the younger top players on tour is going to be more challenging each tourney that passes.

Nadal still has plenty of gas in the tank, but I'm starting to wonder if his knees will hold up. Winning 7 matches in a row, in a major, against top level players, playing the physical type of tennis that Rafa does...

As for the Fed vs. Nadal rivalry... that's over. A healthy Nadal will handle old man Fed on pretty much any surface at this point.

@bdreason,
i totally agree, but that’s also why mcenroe’s statement amazes me. you simply cannot boil it down to mere "speed," especially if you’re one of the top player-analysts in the sport. that’s why i think his nostrils are coated with orange dust.

i’ll take djoker, although i’d be happy for muzza if he won and gave the UK something to smile about. also, i actually hadn’t realised how petty the dislike is for djokovic by so many. even the crowd to an extent yesterday. i mean, when you witness a glorious tennis match, even when the crowd favorite loses, i think it’s very petty to pout when its over. do you truly love the sport, or is it just a comic book to you? all those 'fans' can get bent.

Bartoli has been one of my favorite players for a long time, so it's nice to see her finally win a major.

I don't know if she has OCD, but she's always done lots of weird little things between points. I think it helps her stay focused and motivated.

Murray should better finish Djoker quick or he may be overwhelmed by Djoker's better stamina.

well, i received the gift of weidman winning the belt last night, so must not be greedy.

congrats, muzza... nice to see the UK take back wimbledon, and cool to see andy finally reaching his potential under old stone-face!

not djoker’s best surface or good weather for him... not to mention laying it all out there on friday. gotta give full credit to murray, tho... beating djokes in three is a great accomplishment.

amazing improvement from murray in a year. hes made a big improvement in his serve and is playing a lot more attacking tennis compared to his earlier days when he was just pushing the shit back every time.

hes made tremendous strides. congrats to muzza
