it will be hard, but only because of the size and athleticism of lebron's body... give ricky davis lebron's body and he would have been just as good.

He was a free agent. A rookie Kobe Bryant demanded to be traded to the Lakers.

Agreed. He owes Bosh and Wade a lot for the 3 good playoff games they had this year

6'9 250 lbs with the agility and speed he has, combined with top 5 passing vision?

Good luck trying to find that.

Better question is, who will come first? Next person with similar physical set of LeBron or physical set of Shaq?

It's impossible to find the next MJ.

Not speaking in terms of style wise, but mentality, and WILL TO WIN.

You're better off finding the next great stat padder that joins a superteam.

I doubt there won't be a next MJ or someone to surpass him depending on how long the NBA lasts. And as basketball fans, we should be hoping for it. Doesn't seem like its Lebron though.

Rare?

I dont think we have ever seen another player like lebron.Nobody even comes close in terms of body of work.

For example kobe is close to jordan even though he is not in the same league in a lot of ways he resembles jordan.

Even wilt and shaq are similar in terms of dominance and size and explosiveness.

I dont think we will ever see another lebron.6'8 265lbs one of the fastest and most durable players with the skill set that he has

Lebron.

NO ONE on this planet will replicate Shaq's strength and dominance down low. Not only because of the rule changes, but because a 350+ behemoth with agility and raw ferocious explosion that Shaq had was once in a lifetime.

Obviously some cyborg player might come around, and have no physical or mental flaws, but c'mon. That's not happening for the next 50 years.

Not to mention, we'll never know how well they would've done in MJ's era. That's the key issue with me.

That's why I always bring up mentality and will to win. Also forgot to mention TOUGHNESS. I don't want the league's best player to be flopping around like a pansy.

So because we'll never know how some potential transcendent superstar would've done in Jordan's era, no one could ever match or surpass him? And who said anything about flopping? Its this type of thinking that detracts from the praise over Jordan when you basically admit that there's no way you would put someone on his level.

I'm a huge Jordan fan and in my years of watching I don't think anyone has been able to touch his greatness, including Lebron. But 50 years is a long time. There's a good chance we see someone in that timeframe come along to match or surpass him. There's also a good chance we don't. As a basketball fan though, I hope it happens.

People forget that when LeBron was young and heralded as the next big thing, it was for his skills, not just his body. The narrative about LeBron lacking skills is very recent compared to the one that had him pinned as a "basketball prodigy".
