Default Tyreke wants New Orleans

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/94...leans-pelicans

Quote:
Earlier Tuesday, ESPN.com reported that the Kings had made signing Iguodala their top free-agent priority, which appeared to suggest that Evans was expendable, especially after last week's selection of Ben McLemore with the seventh overall pick in the draft. Yet one source close to the situation said Wednesday that Evans feels disrespected that new Kings owner Vivek Ranadive had yet to make any formal offer aimed at retaining him. The source said: "They are stalling and he feels he has no choice. If they had shown loyalty to him earlier, he probably would have stayed there. He wasn't trying to leave, but now he feels as though he has to."

I hope Kings let him go. I like him as a player for Malone's defensive system (definitely didn't like him the previous 2 years as an offensive/team player, though last year was an improvement), but I feel Kings need to get the ball rolling on this "new culture" and changing the franchise. Letting Tyreke go is a great first step.

This feels exactly like the Eric Gordon situation last year. We're at the "Eric Gordon says his heart's in PHX" stage right now.

end of the day it doesn't matter what Tyreke wants, kings can match any offer. Much like the Eric Gordon saga of last year, Gordon said he wanted to play in PHX, Hornets (Pelicans) matched the offer and brought him back anyway

Reports I'm hearing is Evans will play as a "super 6th man", Similar to a Manu Ginobilli role.

isnt that the role they tried to give him in sac? and he even said he was willing to do that if it helped his team. but ultimately, he really didnt want to?

Free agent have to wait until one week after the free agency period starts to sign contracts.

On July 1st free agency begins and teams/players can talk.
On July 7th contracts can be signed and trades become official.

Teams and players can only come to agreements before July 7th.

Possibly, I'm not sure. The kings franchise is one of if not the most dysfunctional franchises over the last 5 years, that may have played a part.. I mean the Kings have had 5 coaching changes in the last 5 years, so who really knows what roles each player had on those teams?

Jrue/Vasquez
Gordon/Evans
Aminu?/Darius Miller lol
Anderson/
Davis/Smith?/Lopez?

Couple guys are still FA's but i like the top 6 i guess. The backcourt is fantastic if Gordon can stay healthy. Not much depth in the frontcourt but maybe they can land a carl landry type dude on the cheap.

A core of Jrue/Gordon/Davis is really intriguing. I think Jrue can be an all star again, even in the west (parker, westbrook, paul, curry)

I will say though 11mil/year for Evans is too much. I wouldn't go over 8 a year no matter what.
