Default Anyone been skydiving?

I'm a p*ssy when it comes to heights and its probably the scariest thing I could ever do. Which is why I want to do it. If I can get over a fear that big it'd be awesome. 2 of my friends have done it and say its the greatest thing ever, one of them being a p*ssy himself.

Anyone done it? Experiences?

I did it once when I was like 13. Not from terribly high. My father was friends with a guy who owned a farm, and had his own hanger and runway, with a small plane. He held a pig roast every summer, and there were a bunch of people who jumped all the time. I've got some uneasyness with heights too, but at thirteen or whatever, I was able to be razzed into doing any number of things I didn't want to. I jumped with another guy who did it all the time. It was pretty awesome, although I had no desire to do it again.

I actually preferred it to Bungee jumping, or the time I jumped off a local bridge into the Hou River, because a bunch of my buddies in HS were doing it. It felt much more in control once the shoot goes, and then you sort of relax.

Rezznor has, I believe.

My dad was in the 101st Airborne when he was in the army. He did over 600 jumps including low altitude (500ft) in Vietnam. I asked him one time if he would recommend recreational skydiving. His reply: "There's no reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane."

I always wanted to do it, but those are some wise words.

Heard it's overrated. As in it's the one thing on EVERYONES bucket list that doesn't really fukking change them at all. Like there are better ways to conquer fear.

Rather get the epinephrine fix from a good day at Cedar point lol.

maybe itís just not the change they were hoping for.

there canít be many things like skydiving, tho... just you floating in the sky with the earth spinning far below you. if youíre just looking for an adrenaline rush or some acrophobia therapy, i fear you might miss....... whatever thatís really like.

My wife had a fear of heights and went skydiving and bungee jumping. No way in hell I was joining her. Both deals were run by South Carolina rednecks. The bungee jumping was done off a bridge about 100ft. over the river where they filmed Deliverance. It looked scary as fuck. I don't care if I'm labelled a pussy the rest of my life. I don't need that kind of adrenaline rush thank you.

Funny thing is she's still scared to death of heights.

I love that saying, also like "it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end"

I was in Chicago recently and did the walk out on the glass observation decks they have hanging off the Sears tower, and I can tell you I wasn't a fan of that.

Once the shute is pulled, the Skydiving feels relatively controlled and is pretty cool. It's just a matter of getting out the door. Bungee jumping however I liked much less, as I just felt completely powerless the whole time. I wasn't able to trick my brain into thinking it was gonna be fine.

I have. That's me in the pic. Wasn't as scary as I expected. Was tons of fun. I think bungee jumping is scarier.

Forget jumping I want to sit atop that big ass building in Dubai. Forgot name, it was in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. I'd pay to do it too.
