Yeah I think since Garnett is past his prime he needs help. Bass is terrible the only thing he does is shoot he doesn't play defense and doesn't rebound. Big Baby is undersized and fell in love with his jumper.
The Nets seem to have every piece. Post up players, perimeter guys who can create for others, defense, rebounding, bench. The only question mark for me is Kidd, I don't understand why the Nets chose him as a coach.
Kidd has been a floor general as a player for basically his entire career, so he can basically run the same plays that brought him success, but Deron would be the one executing it. He's a good enough coach to get them in contention, especially with the talent.
For defensive schemes, KG can take care of that.
One thing he needs to improve on is his ability to motivate his players through speech. He doesn't seem much of a guy to yell at his players to get moving.
Imma get my time machine and swap back the 2011 versions of these guys you think they're getting for these 13-14 real players. Because that's the only way the Nets get out of the first round.
I can't remember the last time Terry did anything good on a consistent basis. Same with Pierce. Hell I don't remember Joe Jo and Brook even showing up for the playoffs. I think I saw Deron walk away in handcuffs in the first four games though.
And okay. If KG is gonna make them able to beat a healthy bulls team or even say the same exact bulls team they lost to last year in the playoffs I'm interested in how that makes them a contender. Because damn. I realize you're not used too seeing championship caliber basketball in Houston but there's a difference between Nate Robinson, Marco Bellineli, Jimmy Butler, Boozer, and a 65%-75% Noah and Say......Indiana...Healthy Chicago....the Knicks....
Playoff predictions are going to be fun this season.
My point is just because you were a hell of a player doesn't mean you're gonna be a good coach. There have been many good players who didn't make it as coach. Didn't Russell have a terrible record as a coach? I don't feel like looking it up but I believe he coached a team and didn't do good.
Anyway I want McHale to succeed. I like him a lot as a person and as a coach. Can you imagine Adelman with the current Houston roster?
